Once this takes place I wonder if they will continue their racing sponsorships? Investors might want that money in their pockets instead of it going for something they might consider a very "unnecessary" expense.
I would love your thoughts on this.
Thanks
(As an example...FREYMILLER TRUCKING, for many years, sponsored a car on the NASCAR WINSTON WEST Series. They went public and that stopped immediately.)

Sponsorships can be made to make business sense when the owner is a fan and wants to do them. Once you go public, it has to make 100% business sense. If the return on investment isn't measurably greater than the investment, then goodbye sponsorship.

So there's hope we don't have to hear about Danica 24/7?

I would say GoDaddy's sponsorship days are numbered. For good or bad it is what it is.

It's a "very unneccessary" expense, yet you talk about the Go Daddy driver nonstop. The point of sponsorship is to create product awareness. Go Daddy has long since hooked you, and reeled you into the boat through their sponsiorship of Dancia Patrick.
If Go Daddy's driver was some random guy, you wouldn't even notice the company or give them free publicy for their IPO. Who is the smart one in that scenario? The company getting free publicity or the poster writing about IPOs because of who their company sponsors in NASCAR?

I think Go Daddy has done very well because of Danica. If you see Go Daddy you see Danica. I think she will stay on with Go Daddy, if not some other company will get her. Aspen Dental is an example.

Maybe once Joe Anybody invests his or her money, the thought of all that sponsorship money just flying out the window with maybe not so much return is enough for the new stock holders to say "I want part of that money" or stop sponsoring....Just a thought....

Truth teller, I very seldom mention GODADDY but I do talk about DANICKY being out of her league. I quite often say such things as "why don't they put a qualified driver in the #10 car?" Go back and do some research before you. When I think of the #10 car it has nothing to do with GDADDY. I often think, when she comes home in 25th to 30th place, what would have happened if someone like Sam Hornish would have been in that car on a particuflar day. I still believe, once they go public, you will see a change in how many dollars they put into racing. Yes, it might continue for a couple of years but I think they will eventually give that money to their investors. You need to lighten up and read the post completely before making judgements. Thanks.

If Sam Hornish was in that car, it wouldn't be sponsored by GoDaddy. It seems that having the sponsor money means more than wins or at least finishing in the top 10 or 15. You just need to let Danica be, if she sucks, she sucks. Check some other cars and you will see that they have drivers that SUCK also. There are 43 cars that start a race, someone has to finish 20th and back, and if you check, the guys and gal that are in 20th and down in points, usually stat 15th or 20th on back. It is what it is. Maybe you should start giving them cutsie nicknames too. If it wasn't for you, there wouldn't be much talk of DANICA on here. Let DANICKY go, it is childish. We get it, you don't like her.

If you would actually take time to READ what I say you would have noticed I have said she should be BACK in open wheel racing. In 115 starts she had one win so she did accomplish something there. It isn't so much DANICA but her incompetence in fender car racing. She is out of her league. As far as the cars who finish behind her you are right and they are low budget teams who year in and year out finish 30th to 40th. Some of them are start and park teams. NASCAR would hate to lose her because she has brought some excitement to an otherwise boring series. I don't think NASCAR wanting her there will be able to out way whay a board of directors has to say on how money is spent one GODADDY goes public. Just my thughts.

perhaps an award for "who did the least with the most" is in order here...
high dollar backmarkers are not new to racing...but extended careers with this distinction are much newer than the start / park cars that she "beats".
