NOTICE TO USAC/CRA COMPETITORS: Tarps are mandatory under all race cars in the pit area at Petaluma. The tarps must stick out at least one foot on each side.

In addition, Ocean Speedway and Petaluma Speedway have a strict 90db at 100 feet state mandated sound rule and the Flowmaster “Suitcase” (Part 53545-USAC) is the track legal muffler. If the sound levels are broken, the racer will be disqualified and not allowed to compete.

Tarps under the car?  We don't want to get the dirt dirty?  I assume this is so no fluids enter the earth that should be recycled, but that's interesting.  Ocean Speedway is a cool place, got to go there and spectate a couple summers ago.  Hope all goes well for CA crowd, tracks and competitors.  What ever rules they want us to follow so be it I guess.  What ever keeps the clubs and tracks going in that part of the world is what's important.

The tarp rule at Petaluma has been in place around 10 years. Antioch also has a tarp rule.

Makes sense, put a tarp down.   BTW I too appreciate having one place to go to get all the information on what is happening.  Thank you for that Lance, I appreciate the forum you provide so I can catch up on everything.

I have not spent any time in NoCal, I did get to go to Baylands once when I was like 10yrs old.  Jimmy Sills won that night, I still remember it but I am from south San Diego.  We never made it past LA much...  There were a lot more trips to Arizona than anywhere else, and I now call Arizona home so I probably won't make it to NoCal accept for Calistoga.  One of these years we will make there.

If you ever come accross any photos, video, or anythng else cool from Southbay Speedway 117 (Chula Vista) I would love to purchase it.  cheers
