Awesome that Port is doing that. FREE ADMISSION for night with 7 features on tap. NICE!!!! They truly are THE place to be every Saturday night.
And before one of the haters comes on and says " well it's because they got their money for those shows " let me tell ya this. You are right. But I for one wasn't there either of those rain out nights and I will now get to see 7 features for free. Hell yeah, good deal. Should get a good crowd on June 14th. Thanks Speed Palace!!!!

Per Selinsgroves website, they cancelled due to a family emergency...

Not a hater but, a free ticket to Port seems a bit overpriced... :/

While I admitt I prefer the racing at Lincoln , I am not a Port Royal hater, I do go there for some of the bigger races. I grew up with dirt modifieds and even back as far as Reading and Nazareth the tracks tried to screw each other over. I feel that by Port running this fan appreaciation night against Lincoln 6/14 is an example of this. Lincoln has the All-Stars on 6/14 so now Hodnett and Deweese and several others will have to choose where they will run, not fair to owners and fans alike. When I moved here 4 yrs ago. it was so refreshing to see tracks work together, hell Lincoln even announces who won at Port usually before we head home. Let not have Sprint Tracks go the way of the Modifieds please!

It's not Port Royal trying to screw Lincoln. They have just run out of dates to have these make-up races with the schedule that is already in place. They waffled a while on it before making the final decision, so there was concern.

I don't see Port as screwing Lincoln on this...I see it as a brilliant marketing strategy by giving back to the fans and competetors...
Hopefully it will draw some new fans with the free admission that will like what they see and return in the future...God knows, this sport could definately use a few more fans...

Port wil get maybe six fans from Lincoln, Dewease will go to Lincoln as I think he is only qualified for one of the races and started 18th in it and isn't like to finish in the money in it. Port will get some new fans, I can't wait to see them. We had more drunks around us on ten dollar night last year than the rest of season combined it will be interesting to see what free admission brings out.

Port had their 410 feature rained out on May 3rd and rescheduled it for May 31st, creating double features on the 31st for Port. Last weekend, Lincoln had their show rained out and scheduled their make-up the same night, the 31st. So it would've been double features at both tracks the same night.
Let the guys chasing the $20,000 All Star point fund head to Lincoln, they'll get paid in installments next year....

at some point people will realize there is one saturday per week...saturday night tracks race on saturday nights...and if you have 2 staurday night tracks within a reasonable driving distance you are better off than a race fan that has 1.
Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

Less than a handfull of cars flip flop between Port and Lincoln...The difference, no one gets on the mic at Lincoln and complains about Port cars running Port...

No, but the officials at Lincoln treat the invaders from Port Royal with disrespect when they show up for a show.

rivals = fierce competition
Layton turned up at Lincoln and there was a fight on the track during an open red...with another Port Car!

It's like you're trying to become a credible source and then you post non-sense like this. It's actually rather funny. Lose the biased, unfactual opinions and get some more insight and maybe people will actually respect the articles you post.

So longtimefan - don't go to Port if you don't like it. As an owner, I am sick & tired of people bashing the tracks. We used to race Lincoln - did so for over 10 years. Guess what????? there are just as many drunk buttholes and sober buttholes at Lincoln as there are at Williams Grove, Selinsgrove and Port. Each has their issues. So instead of hurting the sport; why don't you keep your negative comments to yourself. What you have stated applies to all tracks not just Port Royal. BTW, my bet is that you were not that far behind in your consumption.
PS we switched to Port because the new management team APPRECIATES the racers, owners and fans!!!!! Refreshing after 20+ years, to actually feel like people (some) appreciate your hard work and commitment. Have no problem supporting those who support us.
