Dietrich, Hodnett Highlight Impressive List of Entrants for Dirt Classic Qualifiers

More than two dozen sprint car drivers have committed to the upcoming Dirt Classic qualifiers in early June.

Pennsylvania natives Danny Dietrich and Greg Hodnett highlight the impressive list of entrants for the Sunday, June 1, qualifying race at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pa., and the qualifier at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pa., on Sunday, June 8.

The winner of each qualifier is guaranteed a starting position in the inaugural $20,000-to-win Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pa., on Sept. 27.

Other committed drivers to at least one of the two qualifying races include; Chad Kemenah, Dale Blaney, Brian Montieth, Alan Krimes, Danny Holtgraver, Tim Shaffer, Lance Dewease, Danny Smith, Cole Duncan, Billy Dietrich, Mike Lutz, Bob McMillin, Carl Bowser, Brandon Matus, Brent Matus, Jack Soderman, Dan Shetler, Bob Howard, Brad Howard, AJ Flick, Mike Wagner, Logan Wagner, Andre Layfield, and Jac Haudenschild.

Additionally, NASCAR driver Dave Blaney is a guaranteed starter for the qualifying race at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex on June 1 because of his win at the track last Sunday.

Both qualifying races pay $5,000 to win, $2,000 for second place, $1,000 for 10th place and $400 to start with a total purse of more than $23,000.

Gates will open for the qualifier at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex at 3:30 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 5:45 p.m. and qualifying at 6:15 p.m.

The qualifying race at Bedford Speedway is slated for gates to open at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. and qualifying at 6:30 p.m.

It's a darn shame that the race @ Bedford goes against the USAC @ SSP...
