I have a question for Johnny Gibson or whoever has the stats. Does anyone have a list of all the prelim wins? I know there are some drivers that have quite a few prelim wins but they kind of disappeared when the Outlaws starting counting all the wins.
For example, Johnny Herrera is listed on MRN.com with 12 WoO victories but on the woosprint.com he is listed with 10 WoO wins.
I assume in his case that he had 2 prelim wins "taken" away or not recongized.
It would be neat to see the list to see where some of the other drivers rank with these added in.

The sad fact is that the "prelim" wins were against the same competition on an even playing field all night (everyone had to time trial, run a heat race, and then the dash and the A.
The "A" feature victories back in teh day the top 4 from the prelim night were "locked in" to the first 3-4 rows on the final night without Time Trialing or running a heat making it less stressful for them and easier on their crews to run up front the 2nd night too.
Those Prelims IMO were harder to win and should have been changed to be "full-point" wins when they did away with Prelims a few years back. THe scary part is Kinser's WoO win total may be 800+ wins instead of 550+. Some local drivers that won prelims are also left off of WoO winners list because of this too.

Agree 100%. It was harder to win the first night than the second. I never understood why they didn't count as an actual win. And yes Steve would have a lot more and put the majic number even further out of reach. Lol.

One small thing to take into account is not all prelims did feature a full field. The second day of a three day show, those that were locked in, did not run. The items pointed out above are definately vaild though. There were a few times we could only make one night, and we'd choose the first night because of trhe reasons stated above.
