Wow, am I thankful (and spoiled) to be at knoxville on a weekly basis. 80 cars. 3 classes. Superb track prep. And an absolutely stellar field of drivers. In typical fashion tonight was awesome again from the first heat to the final checker.
If you are anywhere within driving distance make it a point to get there for a weekly show. It's unlikely that you'll be disappointed and very likely you'll leave with a big old smile on your face.

I've been going since '77 and I really think the last 5 years or so has been the best and most competitive racing ever. Knoxville just puts on a great show and car counts are great in all 3 classes. 33 410's last night! How many other tracks can boast that?

I'm coming for the Nationals again, but starting next year I'm also hoping to make it up there a couple of times for their weekly show. There sure isn't anything to see around the Dallas area, at least not in terms of real sprint car racing.
I've read on other threads that Knoxville's crowd drops off some when the WoO is there because that show is not as good as the K'ville weekly show. Any comments or opinions on that?

Not going to argue with the track conditions and racing, since I am firm believer that Knoxville produces the best racing the country.
BUT, in regards to your last point - King of the West had 38 cars last weekend at Chico, Lincoln had 37 cars for a local show last weekend, and Attica had 33 on this past Friday.

If the WoO would use Knoxville's line up procedures, you would see a better show...Z
