Southern Topless Economy Modified Shootout marks first LoneStar visit

Kilgore, TX (5/16/14) by DarinShort.com. After two of years of getting schedules coordinated, LoneStar Speedway (LSS) and Southern Topless Economy Modified (STEM) officials are excited to announce the first ever STEM visit to LoneStar Speedway on Saturday, June 28th.

Held during the LSS Championship Points Night #7, the STEM division cars will compete in a complete program of heats and 20-lap feature event.

This is a fully sanctioned STEM championship point’s event, and all STEM rules will be in place. A full field of STEM teams is expected from the DFW and Ark-La-Tex areas. All cars competing must be STEM compliant, no exceptions.

With the added travel for the teams, the purse for this event has also been increased – all without added ticket prices for race fans. The STEM Shootout feature event complete feature event payback is as follows: $500-250-200-160-140-120-100-80-80-60…to start. Any STEM non-qualifiers will receive $50.

The June 28th event is also Championship Points Night #7 for all LoneStar divisions. Modifieds will be racing for $1,000 to win and $100 to start; plus $500 to win and $60 to start for Limited Modifieds; and $300 to win and $40 to start for Factory Stocks. Beginner Factory Stocks will complete the 5-division racing card. Purse breakdown and rules for all divisions are on the track website. Non-Qualifier money is $50 for the Modifieds, $30 for Limited Modifieds and $20 for Factory Stocks. There is no entry fee for any race divisions; all pit passes are $30. Adult tickets will be $12 (ages 12-64), while Senior/Active Military are $10, Kids (ages 6-11) are $5, and youngsters ages 5 and under are free with Adult admission.

Reminder that ‘summer hours’ are in effect, with racing beginning at 8pm.

Here are some quick facts for the Saturday June 28th STEM Shootout at LoneStar Speedway:

-Pits open at 5pm, Grandstands open at 6pm, Draw Cut off at 7 sharp, Hot Laps at 7:30pm with racing at 8pm

-General Admission just $12 (ages 12 to 64)

-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5

-Ages 5 and under admitted free with Adult admission

-Active Military or Senior (Ages 65+): General Admission $10

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section for $5 per person

-All Pit Passes $30

-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside; a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available
