not very many is my guess. The LAW in Iowa is that any place that sells alcohol cannot allow people to bring their own in.
I'd imagine that most states have similar laws and regulations.

Well it all depends on what part of the track you go to and how you get there. Stands Vs. pits
See ya in the pits.....
I tell it like I see it.

LA Raceway had for their entire existence up until this year. This year, they went to a no-cooler policy, and three races in, they closed their doors. Do I think that was the reason? No. Do I think it played a part? Yes. I realize that beer money is a huge amount of income for the track, but if you're looking to bring in more money, up the ticket prices two bucks and still let people bring their own coolers. You won't quite make as much money on the ticket price hike as beer, but that will bring extra people to the track that won't come if they cant bring their own beer, and people will be more likely to buy another cheeseburger if they don't have to pay 3 or 4 bucks for a beer. Cheeseburger at 3 bucks plus admission price increase of 2 bucks > 4 dollar beer. Make your customer feel like they are getting a deal, and they will be back.

some tracks don't sell it though, I've been to Limaland a few times and they don't sell alcohol because of the college owning it, you can take your own beer in the pit stands even.

If they don't sell any, they can usually allow carry-in. Not sure what Ohio's law is though (I don't live there).
In Iowa, the law is that a place that sells alcohol cannot allow any carry-in alcohol (or you can lose your liquor license (permit) and can lose your ability to sell for 30 days (1st offfense) or longer.

I sneak beer or whiskey into every track I go to. I buy 1 beer at the track so I can use the cup and then I spend the rest of the night filling it up with my own. When you charge $4-5 or more for a beer you just lost my business, end of story. I can usually get a 12 pack into any track and they never know. These track "promoters" have lost touch with reality in their beer prices. If they focused on filling the stands with butts instead of just open the gates turn on the lights while they wait to rape the fans at the snackbar they might realize there is money to be made in VOLUME sales.
Cheers!
