Huset’s Speedway to offer Live and On Demand video
Brandon, S.D. -When the dirt flies at Huset’s Speedway this season, the drivers will be showcasing their talents to a worldwide audience.
Huset’s Speedway is now offering pay-per-view event streaming of nearly every event through a new partnership with Stretch Internet. Stretch Internet is one of the largest sports streaming companies in the United States. Events scheduled for broadcast will be available live and on demand.
“We’re very excited to start this new chapter in our 60 year history,” said Huset’s Speedway owner Steve Rubin. “Every driver that takes a green flag at Huset’s Speedway will now be performing for an unlimited audience. Family members of drivers who live thousands of miles away will now be able to watch every lap.”
To view the 2014 schedule of streamed events and order events, visit the Huset’s Portal.
Desktop computer users will need Flash 10.0 or greater and an Internet connection with a download speed of at least 1.0 Mbps (1,000 Kbps) for video broadcasts. You can measure your connection speed at www.speedtest.net. Stretch Internet streams are also currently supported on the iPhone platform, which includes the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad plus mobile devices that fully support Flash 10.1.

Do customers have to wait until 11 PM for hotlaps? Or is that just for the sold out, standing room only Outlaw shows? Thanks but no thanks.

Husets Speedway is one of the finest facilities in the country. It has a well lit surface, a well organized and fair official staff, good concessions at fair prices, good social media contacts, excellent press coverage in newspaper and electronic outlets, every seat on the hillside has an unobstructed view of the speedway, huge parking lot with constant security during the races, electronic scoreboard, host to the World of Outlaws and the All Stars but it does NOT have a 60 year history. In both 1956 and 1957 the track sat idle with no racing of any kind. Husets Speedway does have a nice 58 year history.

Thanks for the information Neisteadt. Could you please tell me how much each broadcast will cost? For some reason that wasn't mentioned in your previous post.

dakob--You seem like an intelligent fella, so Super Chuck will assume you are typing that in "sarcasm" font.
If not, well here goes nothing. Super Chuck has been hitting the races for 25 years and am fortunate enough to have been to over 60 tracks. Not nearly as many as some, but more than most. All that being said, he's walked out of ONE Outlaw show in 25 years. ONE. Uno. The fiasco that was the July 3, '13 WoO show at Husets. Let me tell you about that experience.
Made the trek from Knoxville to Sioux Falls, all the while telling my boys how great short track racing is. We take them to Knoxville every week and have hit a few other half miles or 3/8ths, but never anything like Husets. By the way, for a 6 and 4 year old boy that trip seemed like six weeks not six hours. They were pumped when we walked in the place and were anxious to see the cars on a smaller track. Found some seats by some good friends, which worked out perfectly because I spent the next FIVE HOURS talking to them while the track sat mostly idle, well except for the two push cars/trucks that seemed like they were lost. For a track that calls themselves the "Home of the Professionals", the greed was very transparent as beer and concession lines were packed...but the track was not (see what SC did there?). Needless to say, my boys were bored silly and finally asked if they could just go to sleep around 9:30 PM.
We had been to Husets a handful of times over the years and had never left disappointed. But this night was rediculous. The lack of urgency to work on the track was painfully obvious. After all, with a sold out show people are eventually get hungry and thirsty, right? Why get the racing going when we can keep them here buying beer and food?
Finally, shortly after 11:30 PM we pulled the plug after the Heats were ran. Strange enough, but we actually had plans on the National Holiday that was the next day. Weird, huh? Yep, we walked out. First time Super Chuck ever walked out of a race that didn't involve a fatality. RIP Mr. Hutton. Yep, we walked out of a race, an OUTLAW race. Talked to a lady in the hotel lobby the next morning that left right after the races and got back to the hotel at 3:30 AM. The morning of a National Holiday.
So we drove roughly 6 hours each way, don't remember what we dropped for tickets but I'm guessing around $100 for the family, $130 for a hotel....and for what? Some conversation with friends and WoO hotlaps, time trials and heats. As long as Super Chuck lives, if he ever steps foot on that schat-hole again you all have the right to throat punch me for being so stupid. Home of the Professionals, right? Don't even try to tell Super Chuck how great that place is. He already knows. (sarcasm font right there)

Looks like $19.50 per night - according to the portal's info.

Not bad. That's only $1.50 per 410 sprint car...

This coming from an ASCS regional director and Knoxville Raceway Official? Not too cool if you ask me. I have my difference of opinions with Husets also, but coming from a person that works for other tracks and orginizations just doesn't make much sense to me.

And with that comment you just confirmed Super Chuck's assumptions.
Broke in yet? Maybe not according to you, but it doesn't take 25 years to recognize a shit show when force fed one. We surrendered our seats to two WoO wives that apologized for us having to sit through that fiasco. Wasn't their place to apologize, but they recognized what was happening too. But I suppose they weren't broke in either.
In comparison, Knoxville completed events with all three classes before 10:30 PM last year. The same amount of time it took the Home of the Professionals to pack the track. Please. Keep drinking your Kool Aid and Super Chuck will continue supporting tracks that don't pull that garbage.

Heck, I thought he was being generous.
I doubt that there are many regular nights that there are really 12+ actual 410's at Huset's.

Tip of the Cap on this post Super Chuck. I was too busy celebrating our nation's birthday to write anything up last year. Greed is a hell of a drug....

Wow, you folks certainly put me in my place. I stand corrected, humbled and much wiser in the FIFTY EIGHT (58) year history of racing at Husets Speedway.

This man speaks the truth. If you were there it was a shit show of epic proportions. I won't be going back and I live in Sioux Falls. No more Sundays at Husets for me ever again, I used to never miss a week.
And just like Super Chuck, the only other race I left early was when Mr Hutton lost his life, RIP.
