Did you miss Winged Nation?
The conversation between Doug Wolfgang and Kyle Larson was priceless.
Joey Saldana is THE MAN and he was awesome and David Gravel talked about his big news....

Great episode but I would have to say BS on the 71 being an underfunded team. Also the entire car is a spin off of the same Kahne car he said was junk for a year and half. Same car, same motor etc just took what he had there and sued for being fired. If anyone should be upset it should be the Kahne group who has spent the past five years paying for all the R&D at Speedway and now suppling Larson, Abreau, Saldana.... so all theses guys can thank the Kahne group for spending the money for R&D

Don't know about funding but Dan Motter is a smart businessman. No way is he spending more than KKR or TSR to keep a car out on the road.
He actually is searching for "partners", not sponsors for his race team.
As far as the Speedway motors from IN. Didn't KKR leave them because the other drivers didn't feel they were competitive enough with them.
One thing is for certain, eventually everyone catches up when it comes to HP. A few years ago (when Joey had 25 Quick times) it was Speedway Engines, then Sammy lit the word on fire with the Parker Engines.
It's a monkey-see, monkey-do business (racing that is), yet the car to beat virtually every year doesn't make any changes (Schatz) - same chassis, engines, wings, etc. that he has used for YEARS and YEARS. Continuity means something in this business. You make a big change like motors, chassis, etc. and it may adversely effect your raceteam. Those that keep with what they know works tend to be more consistent over the long run (years).

I believe that KKr is still on the speedway motors as their interviews all state that and I also believe the teams you spoke of all have budgets that are funded from sponsorship

You know that as fact that KKR was sued by Saldana? Saldana put KKR on the map with his driving and Willie turning the wrenches. The numbers dont lie.
