Again it is obvious , by the results over the weekend that the real racing is wingless racing just about anywhere . Just read the results as to where they started . While I respect all drivers and sanctioning bodies , the winged groups just won't tweak there rules to provide better racing for you the fans . I encourage you to support all local racing , but take in a wingless race when you can .

A man after my own heart! After watching both nights of the WoO show at Devils Bowl, I would be hard pressed to disagree. The heat races sucked on both nights, but especially on Friday. ASCS events typically are the same way. When the track is tacky and fast, the heat races are like watching a freight train. You might see some passing on the first lap, but you could probably throw the checker at the 2nd lap and your results wouldn't be different. I wish there was a way to keep the safety factor of the wing but take the downforce element out of it and let the drivers drive. The racing would be better and the motors would last longer. I would add that the best racing I've seen at the Bowl was during the USAC vs. CRA wingless shows they used to have back in the eighties.

I love sprint car racing of any kind including midgets. The area I am from is mainly winged cars but I will take in a USAC show every now and then and I really enjoy it.There is a new series farily close called the BOSS series that I hear is providing some great racing.I agree on the some of the winged racing becoming boring.I always thought that if the wings were some what smaller if that would make the racing better. It would take away some if the down force and still have the safety aspect.

I think they are both better on tracks smaller than a half-mile.

USAC at Eldora last night was a no-passing dustbowl. I love both types of cars, nonwing on a small bullring is my favorite.
Both types can have great races....and clunkers too, like I saw at Eldora last night. That said, to put a nonwing car inches from the wall at Eldora at full speed takes incredible talent, and major-size b_lls!

+1 The 3/8th mile and smaller bull rings put on great shows. I prefer wingless but I like them all. But if I had my choice I will take a large car count midget race on a 1/4 mile track. They make me happy. I know ventura is smaller than a 1/4 but can we have Thunder Back.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Thanks fans , all these comments are true. At Eldora the surface is really never great and with all horse power tracks that tend to get strung out . But the World Racing group doesn't want to tweak the rules to make closer racing even though they have made some changes but not enough . They have not proved to me that they really care about you the fans , just your money . The high speed and drivers are the drawing card for most fans ,not the actual racing . But as long as the crowds come they won't tweak the so-called rules . They just play on your loyalty as we love all racing and they know we will come. It is time all tracks reward fans for their support , just like they do the drivers , lap money , purses , contingency awards or other ways the teams are lured to high purse races .

Thanks Willie , thats true , its a new type of fan that is supporting the winged WoO ,BECAUSE alot of fans haven't seen the racing of years gone by or even the non-winged. If the WRG cared about fans they would put USAC on there winter racing card at VOLUSIA , BUT THEY KNOW USAC or non-wing may put on a better show , but then its a fast 1/2 mile. They don't put them in at Lernerville any longer , and I know there are alot of wingless fans in that area . Sharon would be a good track for USAC ,but there budget doesn't allow them . The sad part is USAC could get more race dates during Eastern swing in PA --NY -AND NJ but schedule won't allow , but then there are new groups that popping up in Missouri, Canada , Ohio and other places , so that would show there is a place for more non-wing racing.

I'll partake in the wingless super sportsman at the 1/4 mile track, Path Valley this Friday...They are running against the Lucas Oil late models just 45 minutes south in Hagerstown...Williams Grove was never an option...
Opinions may vary...
