I'm bringing the Old Red Racer from Eastern OK to play in the dirt and meet some Vintage Race Fans I've yet to meet!!

The RRVO brought out the vintage race cars at Oklahoma Sports Park, Ada OK this last Saturday night 4/19/14. We enjoyed putting the old racers on display and taking to the track to sling some dirt!! I and I'm sure the others would like to thank OSP for having us and I hoped they enjoyed the show!! Lot of the old racers and fans talked about the Good Old days!! Here are just a few pics from the show and forgive me for sneaking the 57 Chevy Stocker on the open wheel site!!

Any information about the NANCE sprint car?

What vintage car has downtubes?  Whats up with that? 

Modern sprint cars with vintage bodies?  Is that it?   

Is that where the "vintage race car" movement is headed?  

The white Vicki bodied car is a sprint, but Tony built it for fun. The other one is an old Dutch Ter Steege car that Bud Lowe has rebuilt.

Cool. Can I put an old body on a 2013 Eagle 410 sprint car and run with you guys "just for fun"?

This is happening because people with the 'real deal' cars are not coming out and supporting any effort to try to save this history like they could be. We care enough to bring what we have, and 'implied rules' sometimes get broken .

I told you about the white Vicky bodied car coming 4 years ago, and the man was not to be denied. His skills though are remarkable, and it would be nice to see what he could do with a truly historical car.

Sometimes cars are built purely out of passion to begin, sometimes cars are restored out of defiance. So many reasons we do what we do , go through what we have to go through just looking for that moment when it all comes together and the ends justify the means of getting there.

Yardfun, you along with your partner, have given me an oppurtunity to own and caretake for the 76--I am thankful and I think people need to know you care and do, a lot more about this movement than people realize. Still, cars on the grounds make the largest impact on the direction this movement goes.

The next generation is loading up on winged sprinters and IMCA modifieds and if we don't get the counts up on what we have NOW, the next generation will roll in on top of us just like they did when their cars were new. The industry as a whole is huge and will support that next chapter well. But where are we going to be?

In Kansas at KAR Event at 81 Speedway this past Fri. had a pretty good showing. 
  
I'll just say this MOST of the next generation don't have the passion to care about this sport, they wanna go fast and be famous for going fast and mostly care about Me/I or themselves mentality, I really doubt most of them will be in the sport long term as rising costs to race or other forms of entertainment develope for them as well as many other distractions , these cars built today have no meaning to them, most are bought new for them and easily replaced if one gets crashed. That cookie cutter mentailty . I am not saying that ALL of em don't care but I go to races each and every week several times a weekend and see it all the time with the next generation and I just don't see the passion for the sport I have seen in past generations.
Most don't just go to watch the races because they love the sport, if they are not racing and it's not a deal where it's a big time event then they won't/don't show up to just watch a weekly show, they don't support the race tracks as the lake or ?? sound better  , but they want the tracks  to be there when it's time to race though, that is why I say there is not the passion for the sport of the next generations that I have seen in the past generations.      

All of em want to win all the time , why this sport is tough to deal with with for some of the next generation as it can be dam brutle at times, chew ya up and spit ya out and not think anything about it. Not like other sports where everyone gets a trophy these days for 1st -6th place,In Racinig the winner goes home with the trophy and most money (what little there is paid out) and the other 19 participants in the A Main go home with no trophy and way less money. Why you see many of the next generations get in it and get out of the sport in a 5-10  yr. span.  

Not trying to be a debbie downer just being realistic with my opinion on this deal as i see it each and every week at races/race tracks all across this area as I just don't see the next generation worrying  much about the past of this sport.
