Additionally, what about pit passes? We always get pit passes, but with the way they things are for the nationals, I'm not sure if it is worth it or not. Thoughts?

I stayed here 2 years ago when i went to the nationals, we stayed in the "loft" room. there were 4 men in that room there was a double sized bed, a futon, a recliner, and i flew with an air mattress and pump and set up in front of the tv on the floor. when you stay here for nationals you have to purchase all 4 nights. it goes up to $175 a night for nationals, and you have to get all 4 nights, from the normal $150 a night during other parts of the year.
i would try and go for the suite next time we go if we stayed there as it seemed like there was more space and it is the same price. its about 20 minutes from the track through goregous landscape.
as far as tickets go, both years ive went we did 2 nights in the pits 2 nights in the stands. both times buying the tickets the day of. even on saturday. in 2011 we bought 6 seats together for saturday night on the drive to the track that afternoon. 2 seats from an aisle high up in section BB (turn 1) and then 2012 we got 4 tickets together for saturday in turn 4 that afternoon.
pitpasses are always available, with limited seating in inside of turn 1 behind staging lane and then more seating inside the turns 3& 4. i would reccomend the grandstand for saturday, but that is all i have done because i wanted to view the whole track the whole night.
we found this place off the knoxvilleraceway.com website under the visitor info tab there is a link for lodging
