Hurley Wires Montgomery County Highbanks
(8-4-07) Jimmy Hurley captured his second O'Reilly Midwest All Stars feature win by leading wire-to-wire in the thirty-lap feature before a large crowd at Montgomery County Speedway in New Florence, MO. Hurley started on the pole and was never seriously challenged in the feature but there was some outstanding racing behind him.
While Hurley set sail, Ryan Bunton, Jerrod Hull, Joey Montgomery, Tim Montgomery and Jason Keith waged a spirited battle for the runner-up spot. Bunton, in a borrowed car following a harrowing crash the previous night in Jacksonville, looked to have the advantage but had a tire go down with eight laps left. Joey Montgomery would claim second, followed by series point leader Hull, Rob Standridge, who advanced through the field after starting fourteenth, Keith and Tim Montgomery. Cory Bruns recorded his best finish of the season, coming home seventh, while Tiffany Wyzard, Tommy Rockwell and Jeremy Standridge completed a hard fought top ten at the quarter mile highbanked track.
Tim Montgomery had fast time at 10.516. Tyler Thompson, Rob Crabdree an dJason Keith won heats. Hurley won the Dash.
