Ricketts Continues Hot Streak, Earns Third Straight Win!

Kennedale, Texas | April 9, 2014 – A two day event weekend for the John Ricketts Racing camp is what led into the most successful weekend of the year so far. Ricketts, a Burleson native entered the weekend coming off of his first win of the season, he would leave with his third victory and some huge momentum heading into out of state competition.It all started on Friday night from Mountain Creek Speedway in Grand Prairie, Texas. After starting on the pole of his heat race and walking away to claim victory, Ricketts would redraw the number 2, putting him on the outside pole of the feature event. Just like the previous weekend when he claimed his first victory of the year, Ricketts shot out of the gates like a cannon during the feature. Jumping straight to the point in his Burleson Auto Center #5r, Ricketts would go into defense mode from lap one. The rest of the feature would merely be a breeze as Ricketts would coast home his Eagle Chassis to claim back to back wins on the season.The following night action would switch to Kennedale Speedway Park, the sight of his first victory on the season last week. Heat race action saw Ricketts once again claim victory after starting on the outside pole this time. The redraw would leave him starting 4th in the feature event, forcing him to work a little harder than the night before. Ricketts would quickly work his way into the lead during the feature, not being phased by his duty to pass cars. Working his way around the ¼ mile of KSP like a seasoned veteran, once Ricketts shot to the point he never looked back. As Ricketts would for the second night and third race in a row be the first car across the finish line to claim victory. “I really just want to thank my sponsors and my fans for supporting me through it all. I’m not sure if my car could have been any better all weekend and I’m looking to carry this momentum into this upcoming weekend and throughout the season.” Ricketts said.This Friday and Saturday will provide a new look for the Ricketts Racing team as John will be running for Marty Hargroder in his 305 Sprint Car down in Beaumont, Texas on Friday night and Many, Louisiana on Saturday.
