4/8/14  Abbottstown, PA – An offseason full of promise almost appeared to be down the drain after one race in the 2014 season for Jim Siegel. The New Oxford, PA driver entered the season with a brand new XXX chassis and new sponsors on board as well in preparation for what looked to be a banner year for the white and blue #59. Yet after opening day and a vicious crash that badly tore up the car, the promise of the New Year was gone and the reality to be faced was a torn up race car and a ton of questions. How would Jim rebound? The answer: with a victory this past Saturday night in a wire to wire effort.

Pole position is the perfect place for a fast race car on a fast race track, and that’s exactly what Siegel drew into on Saturday. After winning his heat race, Jim found himself with the point for the drop of the green on the 25 lap A Feature at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, PA. From the outset, Siegel was fast, with a car that was “a lot faster than I was pushing”. With only lapped traffic in his way, Siegel got up in the seat and blew past the slower cars to cruise to the victory, his 10th career win at Lincoln and first with the new chassis.

“I was trying to take my time with the lapped cars, because we tore this thing up on opening day and I don’t want to go through that again. We surround ourselves with good people like DMI, Jay Krout, Penske and thanks to their hard work we were able to get thing back together and winning! I have to thank my other sponsors and supporters Bob Folk with C.H. Folk and Son Feed, Spectro Oils, Yake Farms, Mason Dixon Vault, Wings Unlimited for getting my wings done fast, Don Ott Racing Engines, Moose Blocks and Smith Precision Products.”
