Ive been tossing around the idea of some race night get togethers and would like to use a projector, it seems the market is pretty wide open for a rookie / home theatorist (is that a word?) . anyway, we will be tuning into Knox live-Dirtvission mainly, what are you using for best results, what should I try avoid?.. many thanks!

For a screen, Home Depot has a paint blend that is made for projecting onto. Silverscreen or something like that. One quart of that and you have an instant screen. I have an Epson projector and it works great. My screen size is about 8' wide and 5' in height.

yes, ive heard of it and seen that online, I wired a guys basement, that he was going to reapply his screen to the new wall again. he seemed pretty happy with it, I will keep that in mind when building a new place for the basement-mancave-entertainment room, i will be proubly just toting a old school pull down screen around, as i might switch locations to the shop occassionally , i would proubly put the picture on the back of the overhead door, but a screen will drop from the cieling in that area, BBQ-popcorn-pop- spilt beer, and all the crazy ladys can make all the mess they want that way, you know how they are, ya put a race on and they practically loose thier minds!, with the smell of 80/90 in the air and fat, overaged beer drinkin, guys huttled around a race shop does it everytime.. i wont even mention what happens when we get the bacon cookn.. lol . what Model# is your Epson? ive looked at a couple of that brand, you connected in HDMI 1080? not sure the streaming will need that resolution, just keeping it in mind for future use for other movies ect tho.. thanks.

If you have wifi you can buy ChromeCast for I think $35 and play anything on your computer on your big screen television. Depends how big of screen you are planning on. Thanks for the tip on the Home Depot paint. I have a friend that likes to do outdoor movie night with his projector.

I have the Epson home cinema 8345 which is 1080 resolution down in the mancave. Most streaming isn't 1080 though. I tried 1080 through xsan and ended up with a lot of buffering so went back to regular resolution. About 2 months after I bought the projector they came out with the 8350 that I could have gotten for the same price. Oh well, works really good.
