I'm curious, last night in Stockton they brought Steve Kinser to victory lane to honor him. I don't know Steve Kinser as a person, but to me he seems like a no nonsense kind if guy.  But during the ceremony they had him wear a cape and a crown, is this something they are doing at every track he runs on during this farewell tour ? Is he on board with this ? I mean I thought him leading The Four Wide Salute was pretty cool ! But the crown and cape I thought were a little silly.

I have had a chance to meet S. Kinser and I think he is just going to play along with the cape and crown and do it for the fans...but I`m sure there are some Kinser haters out there that will expain better than me.

Isn't that the whole point of a farewell tour?   Each track honors The King as it sees fit.   I would assume the fans in the stands love giving him the send off.

I am sure this cape deal was a Stockton deal.  Steve is a common every day type of guy.  I am sure he will get a little tired of a full season of this, but out of respect for fans will go along with it.  Steve does not give you a bunch of BS like some drivers.  He answers the questions best he can and that is it.
