To the back of the outfield , 300 yards away was the Legendary Sydney Showground . The track where Sydney saw its first impression of Steve Kinser , Part of that team was Doug Wolfgang , Jimmy Sills , Larry Burton . It was track where the legend of Steve Brazier put a lap on all of them . A very very narrow track of 500 metres . Names to race on the Showground . Volgler, Tripp , Cleveland , Tatersall , Butcher , Hewitt , Strickland and many more
Behind it was the Sydney Sportsground , which up to the 1940s was Midget and speedway bike track .
So when you watch the matches it is surrounded by speedway memories .
