NOBODY knows why. Maybe it's because NASCAR is still a joke. 43 of the "best drivers in the world" and the majority end green, white, checkered. What a circus.

The funnier part was I never before saw a driver wreck while exiting a pit stall while the stalls next to them were empty. Wow.

Exactly, and if it's a joke then he must like comedy too.   I'm sure his remote has buttons that allow him to change the channel.....

It was an effort to try to get their "cash cow" back on the lead lap.  Didn't work!!!!

Wow, first they said a bank of lights malfunctioned and when Nascar saw that THEY called for the caution. Now a flagman leaned on the switch and turned the yellow lights on and the primary flagman made the decision to wave the yellow flag without Nascar race managment knowing what was going on.

Typical Crapcar. Maybe in the morning they will have anouther excuse. You would think they would come up with their best excuse, the one they wanted to stick with, before they said anything!

And before anyone rags on me for watching I only watched parts of it because Kyle Larson was doing good.

Exactly. I only watch periodically to see how Stewart, Kahne, and Larson are doing.

I'll bet the majority of the guys and gals, young or old, you consider your sprint car heros would (or would have) given anything to race in the big leagues like Gordon, Stewart, Kahne, Newman, Larson, Stenhouse, etc.  given the chance.

I've seen some things from the Outlaws, USAC, etc that struck me as odd as well. 

I enjoyed the race last night - lots of 3-wide racing.  Larson and Stenhouse running up front, Jr finally coming back down to earth, a top 3 for Richard Petty's car.

No racing is perfect.

Actually I thought it was a very good show.    I was hoping one of the sprint car guys would get up there and knock backflipper out of the way and win it.    Stenhouse, Larson, or Stewart, any of those guys would have been great.    

As far as the OP, I was only pointing out that he must not really consider it a joke or he would quit watching, sprint car guys or not.    I don't care what it is, if it gets to be a joke I quit watching.    The OP should do the same thing if he feels that way.

Why do the "best drivers in the world" need "competition yellows"? I still nearly puke when watching the scripted "excitement" victory lane celebrations.....And was I watching? Only our drivers from the real racing world... And lastly, for those who say that NASCAR is doing something right because I was tuned it....Did you see the empty seats yesterday? Bunch them together and you have a full Knoxville Raceway....

Not only a very good show, but one of the best and most entertaining races I've seen in a while.  I did mostly turn it on to see if Larson would run as well as I thought he would.  I know a 10th place finish is not as good as most would have hoped for, but he was challenging for the lead late in the race before pit strategy got the best of a lot of teams.  I thought is was a very good showing for him.  Besides that, the track was very racy--you could run anywhere on the track and yet you had to fight to make every pass.     Very, very enteraining race.  

As far as the yellow at the end?  I would think that if Nascar were to fix the ending--which I believe they may have done before--they would have at least said that they saw debris on the track--rather than implicate themselves by playing dumb.  I do believe it was either a malfunction or an error.  They end plenty of races with Dale Jr and Danica way back in the pack and the lead car way out in front.  I don't know why they would have to fix this one.  In this case, I believe nothing sinister happened.

I too, thought it was some of the best racing I've seen for NASCAR, and mistakes happen (two winners the same night at Williams Grove last year comes to mind).  That said, I was glad to see mother nature end the race with everyone running in the order they deserved at that point.  I always knew god was a true race fan. 

Very entertaining show...looking forward to seeing them @ Dover this spring...

Hawker,  NASCAR and the Neilson ratings do not care WHY you were tuned in....only that you were.   Maybe one of the right things that they are doing is encouraging grass roots racers  (with a  strong following) to make a career change and rin NASCAR.  It's certainly something that IndyCar is failing at. 

I wouldn't try to read too much into yesterday's attendance either....it was a cold rainy day that would have cancelled any lesser show.   I am certain that there were very few walkup tickets purchased and most likely a whole lot of no-shows on tickets purchased in advance. 

As far as the "competition caution" to allow teams to check tire wear....as an F1 fan you are all too familar with tire wear issues.   Nothing wrong with making a decision of the side of caution. 

That mystery caution looked a lot like calling the race on account of a downpour.  I must have been watching a different channel than you were.  Either that or I forgot to put on my Sprint Car goggles.  You know, the ones where everything you see on NASCAR is judged from a Sprint Car perspective.  I'm wondering why you even bother to watch NASCAR if you don't like it.  Do you beat your head on a tree for sport too?

Attendance was 1/2 or even 1/3 of what it would have been had the weather forecast not been so bad the day before.  The way they were talking saturday, there was no way they were going to get that race in on Sunday.

Well, I'm not a Neilson "family".....So I didn't count - I guess we can expect a full grandstand this week in sunny California? - The "competition yellow" is a joke....REAL crew chiefs know what the tires are going to do with out a manufactured yellow......

Yeah, the "competition yellow" is almost as bad as the "red flag for fuel". They both should be outlawed in motorsports.
