MAVTV American Real to telecast five King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series events this season

By Gary Thomas

Aptos, CA – March 7, 2014…The King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series is pleased to announce that five events during the upcoming 2014 season will be filmed for airing on the MAVTV American Real television network.

“This is big for the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series and the sport out here in California,” said Prentice Motorsports Group President John Prentice. “Some of the best Sprint Car drivers in the country have come through the Golden State Series & KWS, so being able to showcase the organization on MAVTV is a great thing. People across the USA will now get to see some of the outstanding racing that we have to offer in California and the many terrific drivers we have out here. It will be great exposure for the King of the West Series and all the teams that support it.”

The five King of the West races that are going to be seen on MAVTV this year include the season-opening Spring Thunder Nationals presented by KRC Safety Company at Thunderbowl Raceway on April 12, the Placerville Speedway event on April 19, the fourth annual Howard Kaeding Classic at Ocean Speedway on July 12, the inaugural Winged Sprint Car event at Ventura Raceway on September 13 and the season-ending 31st annual Tribute to Gary Patterson at the Stockton Dirt Track.

The upcoming season will be the fourth campaign held under the King of the West Sprints banner and the 29th overall year since the Golden State 410 Series came into existence back in 1986. It will also be the first full season contested with the direction & leadership of John Prentice and Brent Kaeding, who took over helm of the KWS Series this past September. Sacramento’s Kyle Hirst claimed last year’s KWS championship for Roth Motorsports and will be back looking another in 2014.

The season-opener on April 12 in Tulare will mark the first time that the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series has opened the year at Thunderbowl Raceway, which has become one of the most popular tracks in the Western United States. In total, this season features 18 events at 12 different tracks throughout California and is certainly one of the most anticipated in recent memory. All of the excitement goes green on April 12 with the Spring Thunder Nationals presented by KRC Safety Company and will be the first KWS event seen on MAVTV American Real.

Both Direct TV and Dish Networks carry MAVTV. MAVTV was founded in 2002 by four former Showtime Networks executives and was originally geared towards a male dominated audience. In 2011, MAVTV was purchased by Lucas Oil Products, an automotive lubricant manufacturer with a history in television production. More info on the channel can be found at http://www.mavtv.com/

Having grown their company from a single product company into an international powerhouse in the lubricant and motorsports industries, Lucas Oil was eager to employ similar strategies to transform MAVTV into a premier cable network

Lucas envisioned a broader scoped network, geared towards the modern American family with significant enhancements to the network including but not limited to; investments in programming, updated on-air look, and increased production quality, all to add more value to the consumer experience.

Are these races going to be on the new "Dirty 30" weekly show that Jackslash is doing or are these in addition to all the ASCS shows, MSR shows, Knoxville weekly shows and Dirty 30 episodes?

I had already figured out that somebody with MavTV will get to see upwards of 75 different sprintcar or midget races if they continued to do a similar number of ASCS and MSR shows as last year. I love it that every month or so I see a press release about even more sprintcar racing coming to this network.

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

If you are a Comcast customer and do not recieve MAVTV here is a link where you can request the channel.  MAVTV has a carry contract with Comcast National, but it is the regional offices choice to carry.

That's exactly why I dumped Charter(Comcast) and went back to DirecTV. Best choice I could have made......

I'm considering switching to Dish.  Had them once before and MAVTV is HD. Am giving Comcast first shot, but have no confidence.
