I was having a discussion the other day with a friend, and the subject came up about him having a painting done remeniscent of Mt Rushmore, but with sprint car drivers. He said he had 3 of the 4 faces figured out....Steve, Sammy and Wolf, but wasn't 100% sure of who the 4th should be. I said without hesitation....Rick Ferkel. I'm just nterested to know what others think....Ferkel or who?

Opperman? & at the risk of annoying some fans, Schatz definitely deserves consideration....

I think Steve, Sammy and Wolfie are locks and you could flip a coin between about half a dozen other drivers for the fourth.

Boy good question, the big three are EZ, you could throw a blanket over the next canidate, I think carefull consideration of Era's in time would proubly factor in such as the real monument, Many would stop going to the monument if Obama was chisled into the SD granit. Im going to go out on a wimb here and say for the sake of age, Andretti? orFerkle,or Opperman, Geez i just dont know which would be the most significant fourth portrait. good one???

If you're talking WoO then Ferkel is the obvious correct choice. If you are talking sprint car drivers of all time Steve would still remain a correct choice

I would have to go with Steve, Sammy, Wolfie and Donny. I know he is a current era guy, but he wins a lot, has got the WoO titles to show for it, his Knoxville record is ridiculous and he has won other big money races. And he has a few years left to add to that record.

I believe the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame already has a Mt. Racemore. They even have a poster of it that is available in the Gift Shop there. Doug, Steve, Sammy and Jac.

I think you would have to have 3 Mt Rushmores. One for 1920-1950, one for 1950-1980 and one 1980-2014. Just because you were born in 1990 or later does not mean there were not great sprintcar drivers before then.

I would vote for Brad Doty.
However, this would have to be a winged sprint car Mt Rushmore. If you simply call it a sprint car Mt Rushmore, I think that you have to completely rethink it. AJ Foyt, Rich Vogler, Jack Hewett and a host of other USAC champions would have to be in consideration.
