John Ricketts Set to Defend IMCA Sprint Championship with 61 Races! Story by Walker Racing Promotions Burleson, Texas | February 26, 2014 – Coming off of arguably the greatest season of his career, John Ricketts will look to top his impres ...sive 2013 resume as he is set for 61 race events in 2014. The 25 year old Burleson native will be looking to defend his title and claim back to back IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car National Championships.
The title defense campaign will kick off in just four days with the Spring Kick-Off at Kennedale Speedway Park this Sunday. Throughout the year Ricketts will be running with IMCA, Southern United Sprints (SUS), Louisiana Bayou Sprinters (LBS), and at his local tracks of Kennedale and Mountain Creek Speedway.
Special events such as the World of Outlaws at Devils Bowl Speedway, 305 RaceSaver Nationals at Eagle Raceway and Short Track Nationals at I-30 Speedway are some of the big races lined up on the 2014 calendar. You will be seeing Ricketts race virtually twice every weekend of the season with a stacked schedule.
“I am really thrilled about this year, we are carrying in a lot of momentum into this year and I think we will be able to pick up where we left off last season, in victory lane.” Said Ricketts, about the upcoming season.
The Ricketts Racing camp will *tentatively* race 61 races at 10 different race tracks in four states. Tracks include the historic Devils Bowl Speedway, Eagle Raceway in Nebraska, and home of the Short Track Nationals, I-30 Speedway. With the packed schedule and huge anticipation coming into 2014, Ricketts hopes to defend his IMCA title and most importantly have fun while racing as much as possible.
