A quick update on the status of Lone Wolf, the new Doug Wolfgang book...

Things were looking bleak earlier this week and it looked like shipping was going to be delayed by two weeks. However, things came together and now we're in a much more favorable situation.

The books have been printed and bound and are scheduled to arrive in Indianapolis on Monday afternoon. Doug and I will be doing an all-day signing session on Tuesday to autograph all of our pre-orders. We are assembling the crew to process and ship, hoping we can get all of our pre-orders into the postal system that day. I was hoping folks would get them before they left for Knoxville but it's more likely they'll be in their mailbox when they arrive home from the Nationals.

We will also have books at Knoxville. They will be available at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame gift shop, plus Doug and I have scheduled two autograph sessions and will have books available at each. Please remember that supplies are limited.

THURSDAY: We'll be on the Midway behind the main grandstand at the Dingus trailer from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

SATURDAY: We'll be at the same location, Dingus trailer behind the main grandstand, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Even if you're not interested in the book come by and say hello to Wolfie and I.

Thanks to all for their patience, I'm very excited that the book is finally here!

Thanks for the update Dave.

Too bad you couldn't bring the pre-ordered books to Knoxville instead of shipping them....I'd even let you keep the shipping fees!

Speedbump,

<<<Too bad you couldn't bring the pre-ordered books to Knoxville instead of shipping them....I'd even let you keep the shipping fees!>>>

Man, we have figured every possible scenario on how we could do this. The difficulty is that it's incredibly complicated to deal with the accounting of the shipping fees with the fulfillment folks. Plus, there is no way to contact all of the pre-order folks to ask if they want us to mail the book or bring it to Knoxville; thus, everybody's shipping would be delayed till the week following the Nationals.

It's just really difficult timing. I was hoping we'd have the books shipped in plenty of time but then again I'm always optimistic in terms of how long the printing and binding process takes.

Thanks for your patience. And please make sure to come say hello, I haven't seen you in a while.

WOW - TWO Legends that I would LOVE to meet! Dave and Wolfie at the same time! Unfortunately we will be stuck in Ohio with the grandson creating the next Jeff Gordon at the Kart track ( well, us and everyone else at the Kart track.......)

Dave - where can we order the book online?? I am also excited that you have profiled another legend!

PS.....When is the Kinser book coming out??

All the best...........#27 Sprinter Ron Walters

Fotowiz: You can order Lone Wolf at www.daveargabright.com or by calling (317) 631-0437.

<<<PS.....When is the Kinser book coming out??>>>

Wouldn't that be a cool project? I'd definitely enjoy working with Steve on a book. Hopefully sometime soon we can do something.

Oscar: Are you ready for another shipment of PBR, mate? Wish you were at Knoxville as well, would be good to visit again.

Speedbump: Please check your PM.

Morty: If I could perfect the art of being in two places at once, I'd be at both midget week and Knoxville next week! Tony Barhorst is really doing a good job with his shows and I hope the whole week is a big success.

Dave, I don't know if my email ever reached you or not....hotmail sent me a delay message.

My post was nothing more than observing the irony that you and Doug will see a good portion of the people that purchased in advance before they will recieve the book. I will get mine in the mail a day or two after you ship and will probably have it finished before the Saturday night A main.

Thank You though....I will stop by and say hello Thursday.

Speedbump, that's cool. Apparently SBC is having some e-mail issues so maybe I'll get it soon. You can try me directly at racer.1@sbcglobal.

And we'll see you next week!

OK Dave ..... When in Rome one drinks Peroni beer, so when in the "Blue Ribbon" areas of the US for sprintcar racing, one drinks the local brew wherever possible.

PBR was just one of a few dozen different varieties Paddy and I consumed during the 10 weeks. Unfortunately I just happened to tell you about that one!!

$34 Oz dollars for a carton of VB here in this country makes the $9.95 you guys pay for PBR for example pretty attractive.

.......... PS: Hell, we'll even admit to buying a pack or two of Old Milwaukee
