Port-A-Cool Texas World Dirt Track Championship Entries; Event Updates as of Feb. 11

Ft. Worth, TX (2/11/14) by DarinShort.com. With just over three weeks until the largest dirt track event in Texas, the Port-A-Cool® Texas World Dirt Track Championship already has more than 140 entries across three divisions (Limited Modified, Modified and SUPR Late Model). Routinely one of the most competitive and anticipated events of the season, competitors already are entered from eight different states and the current field includes 12 former Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track Champions led by defending champions Rodney Sanders (Modified), of Happy, Texas, and Shane Hebert (SUPR Late Model), of Lafayette, La.

Tickets are on sale now for the Port-A-Cool Texas World Dirt Track Championship on March 7-8 through www.texasmotorspeedway.com or the speedway ticket office at (817) 215-8500.

Fans can get $5 off adult tickets when they purchase them at an O’Reilly Auto Parts store throughout North Texas. Click visit http://www.texasmotorspeedway.com/tms-extras/OReilly-Store-Locations for a full list of participating O’Reilly Auto Parts locations.

“I’ve heard and talked to thousands of drivers over the past several years and they all compare this event to the Super Bowl,” Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. “It’s the best looking group of race cars you will ever see. If you race in one of these three divisions, you owe it to yourself to experience this weekend at TMS. Racing at this event will make you a better driver. That is a fact.”

'Early Registration' pricing for the event is still underway through next Friday, February 21st. By clicking www.darinshort.com/world.html drivers can take advantage of discounted registration pricing.

All Modified and Limited Modified drivers registering by February 21st will be eligible for the two provisional starting position drawings into their respective championship feature event on Saturday night. The Modified feature pays $750 to start, while the Limited Modifieds pay $400 to start.

The 120 reserved paved pit spaces sold out a few weeks back, and remaining teams will be parked by TMS officials upon their arrival to the speedway on race weekend. There is plenty of overflow pit parking available directly next to the paved pit area.

Thanks again to all of the drivers who have registered early, as it helps the speedway get ready for your arrival on race weekend.

If you'd like to view/print a detailed schedule of race weekend, one is now available.

Click http://www.darinshort.com/world.html to access the event website and the link is posted at the upper left of the page under 'additional event resources.'

A direct link to the file is at: http://www.darinshort.com/files/2014_WTDTC_Schedule.pdf

There have also been some requests from fans wanting to know how many cars in each division that have early entered.

As of last week there were 74 Limited Modifieds, 46 Modifieds and 23 SUPR Late Models early registered...including 12 former Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track Champions.

Of course there will be a lot more cars entering by the early cutoff on February 21st, and then the final wave of entries will arrive at the track on race day; but it's already a great field of cars coming together. Thanks once again to the race teams for getting registered early.
