A big "thank you" to MAVTV for the live coverage of this year's Chili Bowl enjoyed it completely.  Everything was well done and loved Dave Despain's mc-ing the show.  I'm a huge supporter of MAVTV and its autosports programming as well as buy many Lucas Oil products in support .  If I could make one observation as well as many who watched with our group,  HD is really needed as coverage was very blurry and alot of crawls and headers couldnt be read.  Hopeful in the future MAVTV has plans to go HD for it's viewers.  Thanks again MAVTV and Lucas Oil for the great coverage.

ROTORGLOW,  I also enjoyed  watching the live coverage of the Chili Bowl as broadcast by MAV TV.  Thanks to MAV, Lucas Oil Products and all the other sponsors.  I live in the greater Milwaukee Area and my cable provider is Time Warner.  I have TW's HD service so I was able to watch the CB in very clear HD quality. MAV does broadcast in HD so you might want to check with your cable provider to see if they can also offer MAV TV in HD.

I appreciate MAV TV and the opportunity to get to see the Chili Bowl live - let me say that up front, but I'll never understand why folks who broadcast racing on TV, from NASCAR on down, always have to zoom-in on the flagman on the initital green flag and the checkered flag.  Man, that aggrevates me, especialy when someone is leading way out front, and a big battle is taking place behind them.  For example, the Cottle-Kuhn battle on the last lap - they were following it, then had to zoom-in on the leader taking the checkers.

Small aggrevation, I know - but that has always bugged me.  Thanks again to MAV-TV and Lucas Oil!

You are correct.  Mavtv must not be HD on Directv because it was a little fuzzy like rotorglow said.  The picture looked sharper on my non HD 20 inch tv, than it did on my 50 inch HD tv.  This sure was a whole lot better than not seeig it at all.  Thanks MavTV.......

MAVTV delivers the HD feed to Directv.  We need to be emailing Directv to ask them to broadcast it in HD.

I have the race on my DVR and checked 'upcoming showings' and there are none, at least for the next 2 weeks

I e-mailed them, and they responded right away, saying they don't carry MAVTV.  They must not read the inquiry thoroughly.  I e-mailed again and basically the same response.  The third time, I hammered their customer service saying I'd love to have a job that I can screw up so badly at, and keep it. I told him/her that channel 214 IS MAVTV, and they are answering someone elses question, not mine.  I finally got an answer that they are continually looking to expand their HD service.  I e-mailed a 4th time, telling them they can swap out TVLAND in HD because all the shows on their were NOT recorded in HD so it doesn't help the picture, and switch the bandwidth to MAVTV where there is nothing but fast action and it is recorded in HD.  I am looking forward to the response this time.  Squeaky wheel......

My name is Ashley G. and I am a resolution specialist in DIRECTV’s email department. Thank you very much for writing today. I am glad to hear that you are excited about us carrying MavTV. I can definitely understand your request to have this channel broadcast in HD. At this time, I cannot speculate as to why we are not airing this channel in HD. I can tell you that there are many things that would cause us not to carry this channel in HD. One reason could be that even though we are expanding our bandwidth and making room for new HD programming, we may not have the room for this channel right now. Another reason could be that this feed may not have been available to us in HD for whatever reason when our original agreement was made with this channel. If that is the case I am sure we will renegotiate that when our current agreement expires.

Regardless, we realize having this channel available in HD is important to you and many of our customers. So we appreciate you taking the time to let us know how you feel about this matter. Since we value your opinions about our service, programming, and special offers, I have forwarded your comments to DIRECTV management. While DIRECTV Management cannot follow up with each customer individually, rest assured every suggestion and inquiry from our most important customers is reviewed to determine what changes should be considered.

Thank you once again for choosing DIRECTV as your service provider, Mr. A. Have a wonderful day!

I hope MavTV works out a deal to do the Chili Bowl every year. 33 people joined me at my humble abode for what seemed like an indoor Williams Grove infield gathering. It was a great way to break up the off season. The broadcast was decent for a first time. Picture clarity does need to be addressed. Thanks MavTV.

Not sure if this is just my region or not, but MavTv is only available in HD for my dish network package. I had to call and finagle my way into a new receiver and free HD for life.

I was well pleased with Mavtv's telecast of the Chili Bowl. I look forward to them broadcasting in HD. The Indiana Sprint show would be awesome!
