Need an early season race? The Southern Chill takes place at Battleground Speedway just east of Houston on the third weekend of February and races six (can even call it 7 or 8) classes of cars. Average high temp for those days there is a balmy 67 with an average low of just 48. Record highs are in the low-mid 80s!
They will race Open Wheel Modifieds ($2000 to win), Limited (full-frame type) Modifieds ($2000 to win), Mod-Lite/Dwarf cars ($1500 to win) along with a couple of Stock Car classes and the 4-cylinder eco stocks (stingers, fwd, etc.).
