cali fans are the best because we live far away from people like stan! lol.
we also get to see our home boys trek out and kick butt all over the country, then welcome them home to kick each others butts.
when most of the nation is knee deep in snow we are slinging dirt. this year we will get more woo shows in in a month than most places will see all year as well as will have our local points season well under way before most have even had an ice breaker show.
we have tracks like maysville, chico and placerville in northern cali than produce some fine racing.
we have antioch, petaluma and ocean speedway on the coast that when the air is right get you to below sea level corrected altitude that makes motors rip better than anyplace else in the country.
we have stockton and hanford and tulare in the central valley with weather where we can watch chicks in halter tops and shorts from march until november.try that in posse land.
then we have calistoga which has been said to be the most beautiful setting for a sprint car track.
we have some of the best hooked up or slicked off or high banked or big tracks in the country.
cali fans are the best because we invite and welcome everyone to come and share some of the best racing in the country almost year round.

How bout this, one Cali fan created the Trophy Cup, the best sprint car format anywhere and proceeds go to the Make A Wish foundation. What have your local state fans done?
"In 1994 Dave Pusateri, the owner of Trophy City in San Jose CA, came up with the idea of an event that featured a main that was fully inverted, putting the fastest cars at the rear for a passing filled race. The event became known as the Trophy Cup and its remarkable history continues this year with the 19th annual event. "
"The Trophy Cup has always been a cooperative effort among businesses, the host track, fans, and all the volunteers that shape the Trophy Cup organization. The event has earned the Short Track Race of the Year from National Speed Sport News, an award befitting the level of competition that fans have enjoyed each year.

hey you can't beat cali and its fans.
we have fans who support a racing season that lasts from march til the beginning of november and we support everything from the woo, a traveling 410 and traveling 360 series, usac, as well as multiple local sprint car series. we support wing, non wing and midgets.
from ukiah to perris and everywhere in between in a state that takes up most of he west coast of the US you can't find a better combination of race fans.
to indy and beyond!!

Could not have said this any better myself. No place I'd rather live for the variety of sprint cars, fans, tracks and weather!

There are 36 million people that live in California, they are number 1 in country. If they are such rabid fans why are there not more people at races? All kind of empty seats at Turkey Night race and I thought race was very good. If fans were breaking down gates to attend Ascot, do you think it would have been sold? The fans that go to races may be great fans, but out of 36 million people, not enough go. For an example, Iowa has about 3 million population, and PA has about 12 million.

half the people in california are mexican and half of those are illegal. not big race fans. then you have all the orientals. not big race fans either.
california takes up just about the whole left coast. you can drive for a thousand miles in one direction and still be in california. it isn't a place where you can stand on your porch and piss in a circle and hit just about every track in the area. there are plenty of attrations in california that battle for the entertainment dollar and the attention of the people.
so we have tracks spread out over such a large area and all competing for the same fans with races conflicting with each other. try going to the trophy cup or the gold cup. go to a warm night at ocean speedway or placerville. turkey night at perris i don't think is indicitive of the california race fan.
by the way ascot met its demise due to urban and industrial development, just like other tracks in cali have. the land got more valuable to use for development than racing.
with all the options people in cali have to entertain themselves, the race fans here do quite well supporting the sport.
it just might be a quality over quantity issue that you are confused by.
to indy and beyond!!
