I have noticed for about last 15 years that most non wing sprint cars used a front anti sway bar. All of a sudden I have noticed that alot of cars do not have sway bars hooked up even though chassis has mounts. Why the sudden change? I alway look for some reason at front of non wing cars to see if sway bars are in use. Also what happened to Drinan Dri Bars? Anyone in the KNOW can answer this?

You see them unhooked/unattached on 1/4 miles & hooked up more often on 1/2 mile tracks.
First I noticed the front sway bars was JJ Yeley; coil over front w/sway bar, torsion rear. When he won with the setup, monkey see monkey do/normal sprint car tech where everyone copies. Lot of folks bought the bolt on kit, some went the actual chassis designed w/bar.
Hopefully someone on here can enlighten us on the finer points.

It keeps the car on the left rear, typically most teams use them on dry slick and bigger tracks. It's all really a personal preference. It's not a magical setup trick. When we hook it up it makes the car feel more on the left rear getting in and coming off it feels like it dips on the left rear. To me it feels more like a Wing car. The rougher the track it makes the front end bounce and skip a bunch. Some like it some don't.
