If I was to make a 2014 schedule, what tracks/series would you guys want to be on it? Any track in the United States or Canada is fine.
My goal is to provide a place for fans to look quickly at any track's schedule across the country and how their races match up with another race on that night. Winners will also be posted on the same sheet.
For an idea of what this will be like, here is an example of what I have to this point. Obviously it will be watered down to mostly sprint car events. MASTER SCHEDULE
Please feel free to post any suggestions you have that could ultimately improve it.

Sounds like a great idea, if you have the time, helps everyone else. I'd start with groups like WoO, USAC, Allstars, ASCS, and as many major tracks as time permits.
I hope you're retired!

I'm actually a freshman in college :p
I've already got the entire WoO, USAC, USAC Midget, Silver Crown, ASCS, King of the West, Knoxville, Williams Grove, & Eldora schedules. ASCoC has not released their schedule yet that I am aware of. What would be considered some other major weekly tracks that a hardcore race fans are interested in?

Those are my thoughts. It's much easier to visit the websites of one's favorite tracks and series to compile a personal schedule. The list is too cluttered and doesn't even address series such as the UMSS and IRA or places like Jackson, Husets, Grand Forks, etc. It lists WoO stops at some of those places but completely ignores big races such as Cedar Lake's Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial.
My point isn't that it's a bad list, it's simply incomplete and TMI if one is looking for something specific. Hats off to those who have enough time to do something like this but I consider these massive efforts redundant when tracks and series all post their schedules on their websites. We know what weekends our favorite events fall on year in and year out, that usually doesn't change much. We know without looking what night our local tracks run and most of their annual schedules never change. I can put together a fairly accurate schedule by first adding all of my favorite events knowing that they're going to be on the same weekends. Then I can check a few track and series schedules and fill in as many open weekends as I can afford.
To wrap it up I applaud the effort but personally I would never consult a national "list of everything" when putting together my personal schedule. It might come in handy to verify winners as a research option when writing a story though. Just my observations after doing the website thing since the days of 14.4 phone modems.

I understand that this might not be for everybody and maybe it will be a complete flop. Just a thought I had that I wanted to explore and see how effective it is. I guess we'll see how it unfolds and go from there. Thanks your input Stan.

Thanks for the excel file. It makes it a lot easier to see scheduling conflicts. I could get the list to display events for individual states, but is there a way to have it display events for three or four states at the same time, and not show the other ones?

RLW,
If you click on the dropdown arrow above the "States" column, click "Filter..." at the bottom, then uncheck the (Select All) box, you can go down through and select the states that you would like to see.

I think this is a great idea to integrate all the schedules and using Excel is the perfect way to do it. One thought might be to add a column with the class of car like Sprint(maybe even wingeed, non-winged, 360, 410), Late Model, Modified so those of us who prefer one car over another can quickly filter out the other classes and clean up some of the data overload that is enivitable when you put this much information together.
Keep updating the information and share again as you complete this list which is a massive undertaking but very much appreciated. I would even love to get the file so I can have on laptop with me all the time.
Thanks for doing this!

Thank you for the suggestion, I will look into it. And within the coming weeks I will have a link that you can save/bookmark/share. That way people can always look in the same place for it and it can still be easily updated.

A "Divisions" column has been added and I will continue to be add as more schedules come out. Thanks for the idea, very helpful.

My opinion is just a cross section of what you're probably going to get. Maybe some folks will think it's a great idea and use it every day. Hopefully the time invested will be rewarded, not necessarily in a financial way because nobody is getting wealthy working on online racing databases but in the sense that people will find some value in it. Good luck.

I agree with everything you're saying. I started this as just a personal thing, but I figured...If I already have it done, I might as well share it with a couple other people that might enjoy it also. If it helps anyone out, great! If not, at least we gave 'er a shot right?

Make room for the Trophy Cup, in Tulare CA in October. Always the best race of the year for me. 3 nights in 2014
(Also Ventura (VRA) is a pretty good option if you are in the Los Angeles area.
