I will probably get some hatred for saying this but here goes. I really do respect the " scruffy" story!  But.... if I came on here and ask u all to send me funds to help buy a new truck that I really couldn't afford more than one of you would probably offer some constructive criticism.  I realize this probably puts a target on my back but so be it.

I like the idea! Wish there were more Scruffies! It takes a lot of courage to follow your dreams. Most of us spend our lives on the sidelines.

If you can afford to donate and like what this team is about, then warm up the Visa. If not, then keep your truck analogy to yourself.

If you truly want that truck, be scruffy like and go after it, don't waste your time feeling sorry for yourself.

Well...after I put a second morgage on my house and leveraged everything else I had to buy a business,  i worked every day for almost a yr to make sure I was successful. I NEVER  asked anybody for a handout!  It was my dream to own my own business and b successful at it.  In all that time I've never had time to "feel sorry for myself".

Scruffy has found a way to get it done all his life and I would bet he will do it again. May be a different time, but it is nice to see these kid's dreams come true.

Hey... don't get me wrong.  I wish them all the luck in the world and hope they r sucsuccessful.  If u read my post I only questioned the approach. How about a retro scruffy t-shirt for $30 with proceeds going directly to support the Tour. Come up with something like that and I will b the first in line to buy one!

This right here is just a small example of if you want something bad enough just go out and make it happen...there are some of us that walk the walk...and some just talk the talk. I myself don`t post much on here for the simple reason I don`t want to have some of you, feel like you are better than me. There are plenty of times that I would love to come on here and rip someones ass but I just tell myself it ain`t worth it. Just had to get my two cents worth in.

What's the difference between this and going out and looking for sponsors? Racing is insanely expensive, not even schatz wins enough money to pay for the whole deal. Good luck to Allen and team.

Thanks for bringing that up. Since I have sponsored a world of outlaw team I feel qualified to sspeak about this.  When u sponsor a team u get something in return ( advertising).  Send ur money to an address and u get a thank you and a warm fuzzy feeling.  Big difference.  And if ur POSSE don't get ur panties especially knotted up cause this isn't geographically motivated. I wouldn't care any more or less if said team was from say Knoxville ia.

The anti-shark posts are disappointing.

We constantly talk about race team support, yet now, when we have the opportunity to support the proverbial underdog, some insist on twisting this in to a message board debate.

Operating a race team is incredibly difficult. Not only is it expensive, but the amount of work required to field a competitive car, week after week, is monumental!

A race team needs our help, but unlike Obamacare, this time we have a choice. If you want to be a part of Shark Racing, then donate, partner, and or support. If not, then exercise that right, without penalty, but no need to demagogue!
