MAVTV & NSSN To Launch Two Shows
MOORESVILLE, N.C. — MAVTV and National Speed Sport News announced they will team up to launch two new one-hour motorsports shows in May, 2014.
This block of programming will air bi-weekly on Thursdays and serve to kick-off MAVTV’s weekend motorsports programming with unprecedented focus and perspective on traditional American racing.
“SPEED SPORT Magazine” will occupy the first hour of the new two-hour slot.
Featuring in-depth reporting, features and editorial, the new program will largely parallel the brand’s flagship monthly magazine. Hosted by National Speed Sport News co-owner and veteran broadcast journalist Ralph Sheheen, “SPEED SPORT Magazine” will provide motorsports fans with an American Real look at racing every other week.
“SPEED SPORT” will fill the second hour of the block and will showcase grassroots racing from across the country. From midgets to modifieds, off-road trucks to motorcycles, “SPEED SPORT” will seek out and produce the very best American Real motorsports action.
Production of both programs will be overseen by Emmy award-winning television veteran Jim Roller. With a 31-year career in broadcasting, Roller has produced and directed programs for three major networks (ABC, NBC and CBS) as well as every major cable entity in the United States (ESPN, TNN, USA, TBS Superstation, FOX Sports and Speed Channel). He completed a 12-year stint as as senior producer for the American Le Mans Series.
“National Speed Sport News is the most trusted name in American motorsports journalism and our new partnership with MAVTV allows us to put NSSN in millions of households every week,” said Ralph Sheheen. “These programs will not only be a positive step for NSSN, but also for race fans thirsting for more motorsports coverage.”
