Surviving are:  her children, Daryl Stimeling and his wife Paula, of Lewistown, Wendy Hoover and her husband Lynn, of Thompsontown, five siblings, Warren Dowling and his wife Joyce, of Franklinville, NY, Robert Dowling and his wife Faye, of Rogersville, TN, James Dowling, of Port Royal, Fred Dowling and his wife Dorothy, of Port Royal, Charles Dowling and his wife Roberta, of McAlisterville and she leaves behind four grandchildren, Tiffany Stimeling, Rachel Stimeling, Colton Hoover and Caitlin Hoover. She was a homemaker, who in earlier life worked as a seamstress for Rae Sel, Port Royal, cleaned private homes and served as a baby sitter. Barbara enjoyed going on Sunday drives and traveling with her husband.  She also loved her cat Molly, making family meals, having coffee with the ladies and watching her humming birds and finches.  However, her greatest joy came from attending her grandchildren’s activities and spending time with her entire family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, from the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with the Rev. James A. I didn't know Barbara Ann Stimeling but, judging by her obituary, I get the impression she was an amazing woman who made the world a better place.
