2014 OIL CAPITAL RACING SERIES SCHEDULE UPDATE
Tulsa, Oklahoma (December 6, 2013) – With progress continuing as the new-year draws closer, more dates have been added to the 2014 Oil Capital Racing Series sprint car season. With the added bookings, there are now 25 set events for the upcoming tour with a few more dates still pending. There are a total of 12 different racetracks that have signed up to hold OCRS events in three states: Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. The recently added tracks and their dates are:
Outlaw Motorsports Park / Oktaha, Oklahoma: OMP is in its second season with Carey and Nicole Menasco at the helm. The Menasco’s have selected OCRS tour stops for Friday May 2nd, Saturday June 21st and Saturday September 27th at their 3/8-mile facility, which one of the finest in the country.
Humboldt Speedway / Humboldt, Kansas: After Mother Nature wiped out an OCRS event at “The Hummer” for the second time in three years in 2013, promoters Ryan and Rhenda Whitworth have moved the traditional spring time OCRS booking to a mid-summer event that will be held on Friday July 18th. Umbrellas should be in retirement mode by then.
South Coffeyville Speedway / South Coffeyville, Oklahoma: The track formerly known as Mid-America Speedway will reopen under the direction of Gary Dilbeck. The owner of Dilbeck Racing Products and Dilbeck Manufacturing will now add track promotorship to his resume. OCRS dates at SCS are Friday June 27th, which will be a non-wing affair and then with the wings on Friday September 26th.
Tri-State Speedway / Pocola, Oklahoma: After back-back successful seasons with the OCRS series with dual seasonal bookings, promoter Tim Adams has given OCRS three dates to sling TSS clay over its open ended corners. Look for sprint car warriors to battle at TSS on May 3rd, June 14th and September 6th (all Saturday night shows).
The 2014 OCRS schedule currently lists three non-wing dates of which more will be added. Also, there are five doubleheader weekends set for the series where fans and race teams can get a full dose of racing action twice in one week.
