Texas Motorsport Expo & Longhorn Shootout Set for Amazing Racing Weekend 12/6-7!
Mesquite, TX (12/4/13) by DarinShort.com. A sold out Texas Motorsport Expo plus nearly 300 Longhorn Shootout race teams will greet fans this weekend, December 6th-7th at the Mesquite ProRodeo/Convention Center complex in Mesquite Texas.
Although there is wintry weather forecast through 6PM on Expo setup/Longhorn qualifying day (December 6th), it should have no effect on the Saturday events.
As of the time of writing, there is no schedule change, for either day, due to the NWS Winter Storm Watch (not warning) that is in place from 6PM Thursday – 6PM Friday.
As a reminder, here’s what’s on tap for this weekend’s all-indoors event:
The traditional Texas Motorsport Expo & Racers Auction has joined forces with the Longhorn Shootout; resulting in a massive racing extravaganza on Friday December 6th and Saturday December 7th.
The new location of this powerhouse weekend of racing and bargains is at the Mesquite Convention Center and Mesquite ProRodeo – which are both located just steps from one other on the same property.
And if that’s not awesome enough, while supplies last, there is a Hampton Inn located on premises as well, offering affordable and convenient lodging. Just park your car or trailer upon your arrival, and you’re all set for a weekend of fun and action!
With this new location, a detailed visual aid has been prepared to get everyone acclimated to the new surroundings. Just click http://www.darinshort.com/expo.html and you can view/print the map of the property.
It is also important that race teams and vendors use the appropriate entrance to the property, so trailers do not get backed up on the entrance road. Race teams and vendors should use Neal Gay Drive to enter the property (the street just past the Hampton Inn). Details are shown on the property map.
The event location is very easy to get in and out of and is located at 1700 Rodeo Dr, Mesquite, Texas 75149. From I-635 (either direction), you will take the Hwy 352 (Military Parkway/Scyene Road), Exit #4. And you will see the complex on the Southwest corner of that intersection on Rodeo Center Blvd, which is parallel to I-635.
Again, race trailers, vendors and auction consignees need to continue past the Hampton Inn entrance on Rodeo Center Blvd and take the Neal Gay Drive street entrance to access all points from there. If you are a race fan or Expo attendee, please reference the property map for a variety of spectator parking options.
Driver registration and vendor display registration is now open. Race teams can visit http://www.LonghornShootout.com for event website and registration, while Expo vendors can click http://www.TexasMotorsportExpo.com to get all set up in a jiffy.
The Texas Motorsport Expo and Auction features nearly 100 exhibitor displays ranging from Dirt Track, to Street, Off Road, Drag Racing, ATV’s, Show Cars & much more.
The Longhorn Shootout features the many of the top Midget, Mini-Sprint and Go-Kart drivers from throughout the region. Over 290 teams are preregistered for the 2013 event.
Here are the pertinent times and activities set for Friday, December 6th:
