Nice. Hmmmm lookie there, It says FREE (VIP) parking for motorcycles. Not 8 dollars to park a motorcycle like at the PAS.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

It also says "Datsun, Official Car of Ascot Park"! Things change.

Reviewing this add , You have a clear idea of the Event taking place , a clear drawing of the type of Car Racing, Clear picture of the Drivers who are Racing < , & a clear Map of where the Event is taking place
Some were along the line we have gotten away from Promotion 101 ?

For a little perspective
1980 Res Seat $ 9 , GA seat $7.50 , Parking $1
Run these # thru the CPI inflation Calc http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm
For 2013 $ You come up with appox. Res Seat $ 25 , GA Seat $ 20 , Parking $3, in round #

$3 parking would be nice wouldn't it? In my opinion anything beyond $5 for parking is excessive.

unfortunately, Ascot was basically private property, if I remember correctly, while The PAS in on fairgrounds property.....and you know that the fairboard calls the shots when it comes to parking on their property....don't remember what Ascot was charging for parking back in 1980...
or even when I first started going to Ascot in 1972......

Roy, I agree 100%. The key to this advertisement would be the picture in the upper left hand corner. He was a master of promoting, none better.

I can't remember Ascot charging for parking; however, it's been 23 years (just this last Saturday night) since I attended a race there (missed the last Turkey Night one even though we lived in Los Angeles at the time) and I've forgotten a lot over those years.
