One of the best races I have ever seen. The 57th aanual Turkey Night Grand Prix held Nov 27 1997 at Ventura Raceway. T-4 days till the 73rd annual running at Perris Auto Speedway

Good stuff! I've always thought that Ventura is the perfect track for midgets. The old Thursday Night Thunder telecasts are still my high water mark for the best racing I've ever seen on the tube. Totally action packed, never a dull moment swap fests. I wish I could have witnessed some of the events that took place in front of huge crowds during midget racing's pre-war golden era. I get the impression they were quite a spectacle. In addition to great racing it was the place to 'see and be seen' for people from all walks of life including celebrities, politicians, captains of industry, etc.
