Following the success of the inaugural 1/3 mile IMCA Sprint Super Nationals in the 2013 season, a momentous decision has been made. French Grimes, who has spearheaded the 305 Racesaver class from its inception, has opted to no longer hold the Racesaver Nationals which had been run at the Fork Mountain Raceway in Bassett, Virginia for the past 14 years. After lengthy discussions between French Grimes and Roger Hadan, it was decided that the annual Championship should be held at Eagle Raceway. The Super Nationals at Eagle Raceway will become a championship weekend for Racesaver and IMCA Sprint Drivers alike.
It gives us great pleasure to announce that the 15th Annual Racesaver IMCA Sprint Super Nationals will be held at Eagle in 2014 as a 3 night show from August 29th through August 31st. In addition, there will be a practice night on Thursday, August 28th.
And, to make this year even more memorable, the “Big Dance” on Sunday night will feature the first ever 3-wide start featuring the top 27 drivers from the weekend. The Big Dance will once again pay $2000 to win and $1000 to start.
It’s never too early to start planning next year’s racing vacations, so mark the 28th through the 31st of August on your calendar right now so you don’t miss a minute of the action.
We will release more information as it comes...
Thanks for supporting Eagle Raceway "America's Home
Track"

Very exciting! We'll have high hopes of getting back to the midwest for this one. I'll surely miss driving only an hour north to line up with the cars at Fork Mountain, but hats off to French for his unwavering committment to whatever is best for Racesaver as a whole. You'll never meet another with as pure and transparent intentions of making affordable, fair sprint car racing available to the average racer. He tells us the Nebraska event was top shelf last summer. We can't wait
Peril, not variety, is the true spice of life.

3 wide start?
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

I know I'm old 65 ++, and after deep thought I still can't get the feature payout to correctly register in my mind---$2,000.00 to win and every other feature starter gets at least $1,000.00--correct?? Winner must receive a hell of a trophy !!!! In another post today on the HH Forum the payout is $5,000.00 to win and $500.00 to start--to me that seems more attractive. Am I way off kilter in my thinking??
Happy Thanksgiving to all !!!!

This is the yearly championship for the Racesaver IMCA sprints. The entire philosphy of the Racesaver series is stated clearly on the front page of their website: "Did you know that the average sprint car purse pays the winner 10 times the amount earned by the 24th place car? Races run under RACESAVER® plan pay the 24th starter at least 1/2 of the winner's purse. A typical purse would pay the winner between $150 to $300 and the 24th starter $100 to $150. No, that isn't a lot of money, but that is exactly the plan. Big money, brings big problems. You can be competitive for under $150 per night. Now you can race, pay the mortgage, and send the kids to school."

Eagle Pit Shack Guy, Thanks for your quick reply and the excellent, concise information it contained. The philosphy seems well thought out and founded. Best of luck to all involved and race safely. Hope to someday to catch one of your races. I believe races don't have to be 120 MPH to be exciting, give me a number of equal cars battling at a lesser speed and I'd be happy.

You are more than welcome Badger Boy!! And, I also hope that you can make it to one of our races next season; perhaps 1 day of the Supernationals (or better yet, all 3!).
The Racesaver IMCA 305's are definitely competitive. And, when you consider that their lap times are only about 1 second slower than the 360's under similar track conditions, they definitely do put out some speed.

I'm thinking that we could approach 100 cars for next year's Supernationals. Heck, we might beqt the car count of the Knoxville Nationals.
