A 65 minute gap for intermission until the Main Event is not good. While I will endure the chill, how many others will go out to their cars and trucks or motor homes and just not come back? USAC tends to make a 2  1/2 show into a 5 hour endurance test. Just a few weeks ago in Las Vegas for the IMCA modified races, on Thursday from 5:00pm to 10:30pm they had 250 cars race in 20 heat races, 10 consolation races, 2 last chance races, and a main event.

Looks like a 25 minute intermission to me. 25 minutes for each qualifier would make for an 8:05 intermission, then 25 minutes later, driver intro's, 15 minutes later, the feature

Hey Tom, USAC has nothing to do with intermissions. That is the promoter

as a car owner, it is pretty important to have some down time to work on the car if need be.

as a fan, i love having driver intros...something that we haven't seen too much of at perris lately

$40 Ticket (x2= $80) + $8 parking + Dinner at track + Gas  for 3 races?

I know the format is set in stone, but why not use the standard format (which is not all that great to start with)

Qual, lock top 6 in main (if you want), 4 heats, C, B and A main.

May be the best race of the year, but..... 3 races spread out over 4-5 hours (if you count practice), and people ask why young people do not attend short track races anymore. I know Irwindale was detested by most on this board, but they had both sprint cars and midgets, on the program so there was more racing during the night.

Come on USAC, PAS, and Aggie famiy, YOU CAN DO BETTER with the format  (and you could give the fans a better break on ticket prices)  For a $40 ticket, I sure hope the midgets get a good purse?  As a fan, $40 (plus other expenses) is too much for what PAS is offering that night  frown

Dare I ask...in the event of rain, will they try to run it on Friday? Or is it a one shot deal?

Yes, Friday.  If weather were to intervene on both Thursday and Friday, then Saturday would be the date.

Thanks Scott! I was getting a little nervous with the weather looking iffy Thursday and Friday.

Me, too.  We have tickets to go see the Trans Siberian Orchestra on Friday.  Would hate to miss seeing that as we go ever year, but Turkey Night on dirt takes major precedence over the TSO.

With all that intermission time the promoter can rework the track, so it is not dry slick like last year!

Don't blame you for that! We have reserved seats, and while the credit toward an event next year wouldn't be a bad thing, we are really looking forward to Turkey Night since this is our first time going.  Hopefully they can get it in on Thursday...but as of now the best weather looks like Saturday.

Figures....hasn't rained in weeks.
