I guess you missed this post on facebook by Donny
"The 2013 World of outlaws season is over. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't disappointed not winning the championship. This team performed to the best of its abilities. I'm very proud to be a part of this group of people. Please dont question or doubt the WoO point system, it is not broken. It rewards consistency as it should. We we're beat by 14 points, by a great racer and a great race team. Congratulations to Daryn Pittman and KKR. It was the time of my life being able to race as hard as I could right down to the last corner of the last lap. I know if it was that much fun for me, you fans had to enjoy it. Thank you everyone who attends, listens, and watches sprint car races. Without your involvement (whether or not you love or hate me) this sport would not allow us to do what we love! Thank you All!!
Donny Schatz"
As posted by RW on another thread. To all the haters and clowns who are jealous of this very successful young racer you may just learn a little something if you spend some time with this class act. In real life and not just make believe like this place, Donny, Dianne and Danny Schatz are as respected as any sprint family in the country and they should be.....

I am the farthest thing from a Schatz fan, but it's impossible to not respect him and his abilities behind the wheel. This topic can be put to rest now.

MSPN, I really haven't seen all that much Schatz hate in these posts, of course there is 1 here or there from people that simply hate Donny, otherwise I've thought that this points thing has actually shown alot of people sticking up for Donny and saying they believe he was more deserving of the championship then the 9 team, due to wins. I thought it was pretty impressive how many people actually were on Donny's side of this as just a few years back on here all you had to do was mention his name and an avalanche of hate would have been typed. You don't see near as much hate towards him anymore and I think thats because he's proved that he is a great driver and has earned alot of respect, even from people who just disliked him because. The argueing thats gone on has been more about the point system than about disliking Donny, also I think his comments on Sat. night flared up a few things as well though. Albeit the heat of the moment after the race, some people did take the comment as disrespectful towards Daryn and the 9 team. This quote seems gracious enough, does anyone know where it originally came from?

THIS NEEDS TO BE SEEN AND READ.......All hail MSPN as he is all and knows all. Greetings MSPN:} Donny Shatz's quote in VL Saturday evening." I was not outperformed this year". A six word sentence that literally almost put me into shock and I could not help burst with laughter all at the same time. What a sentence to mutter after you have just been Beaten. This sounds like the kind of sentence a man might mutter that has been hired by Tony Stewart. What a klan he is putting together huh. D Patrick, K Busch, K Harvick, releasing one of the classiest drivers Ryan Newman. The four years with Heffner Racing #27 and competing with and racing in the major leagues in central Pennsylvania have molded and prepared this man to be a Champion. Sorry MSPN and Donny Shatz, I'm sure Slammin Sammy can give you some his crying towls if need be. I'm also quite sure Donny Shatz is thrilled he wont have to deal with Mr. FAST FREDDIE RAHMER next year either HAHA. We should all be thrilled that the 2013 World of Outlaws Champion is one of the classiest cleancut human beings who ever graced our planet. Somthing that we HAVE NOT seen in about 12 years with the exception of Jason Meyers. Thank you Kasey Kahne for hiring this man. We miss him in PA, but were thrilled about what you have done this season. Outperforming the 15 car without a shadow of a doubt! Hey MSPN, take it easy Ole Boyyy

Thanks for making yourself look like an @ss with the above statements.
I am not a Schatz fan, but he is correct, he wasn't outperformed (do any major form of motorsports give out points for qualifying (F1 - nope, NASCAR- nope, Indy - yes (how well are they doing??), Sports Car Racing - nope).
My point is this, he was not out-performed on the track during the races (the points for qualifying are by their own terms, "Bonus points". There are no other points in the evening when bonus points are given.
Pittman did a great job all year and DESERVED to win the championship based on his performance and the point structure (not a fan of his either, but he did what he had to do to win).
Just like they can't go back and give Jeff Gordon 2 more Championships becuase of the "Chase" being instituted, even if they change the point structure going forward, Daryn Pittman will always be a Champion.
I'm just glad the point chase is tight enough at the end of the season that it's even a topic. Most years in the 1980's and early 1990's, the point race was over in August....

I seriously doubt a posting on FB by Schatz regarding the 2013 season will change the way anyone feels about him.
You have three choices when it comes to Schatz.
You like him
You don't like him
You are totally indefferent
Sorta like all the drivers isn't it?

Wendal, glad to see the computer age come into your world, lol. Darryn has always been a classy guy, I think his Okie upbringing has lots to do with that plus he's just plain decent, not sure anyone has ever griped about him in this forum. Having said that the vast majority of the people that complain about Tony, Donny, Sammy etc. are for the most part jealous of their talents or watched as they lapped their own hero or worse maybe rubbed him a bit too hard, so sad. Having haters is a sign of respect these days, silly as it seems but this world is much worse than it was in the good ol' days as I see it, lol. I guess getting old and reflecting on some of the changes in here and in racing and in the world leaves one a little flawed hence I comment as I do, but the bottom line is, it's all good. I pity these youngsters having the hate/jealousy they do for people they don't even know, for a team I can see it but it's crazy to be that specific, but what they heck, good health is wasted on the youth as well, lol. Take It Easy.....

I'm not sure about your post these days MSPN..... Met you back in the day and we had a great conversation about our friend the late John Bankston.... I even have some of your pictures hanging in my house........ But here lately, not sure what to think about your post..... But like you said, "it's all good".

Super Chuck says, just to be clear, that F1, Nascar, Indy, etc. do provide a bonus for qualifying...it's called the pole position. Not an inversion in the heat race like them dang dirt cars. Bonus points are awarded for qualifying to discourage sandbagging, which is still absolutely possible at this level. Believe it or not these bonus points were available to all drivers since the beginning of the year....same for everyone. Crazy, right?
Super Chuck

What the hell is in the water in central PA that has certain people like this guy so delusional?
Cheers!

You have to do the bonus point system so the outlaws don't sandbag in time trials. Just my thoughts. Everyone knows the point system at the start of the year. Same for everyone !!! Congrats to Daryn Pittman on his WoO championship and Kasey Kahne for putting him in the ride. Daryn Pittman at the Knoxville Nationals a few years ago.

Dang, thinking to myself, why don't all these tree huggin jealous pussies stop overblowing things, can't somebody say what they want or even better, say what they think, oops I just did....
Thinking about another Eagles song, GET OVER IT....
Donny is already one of the greatest Sprint Car Drivers of all-time, his record speaks for itself, he doesn't need a PR department and he spoke his mind, I'm sorry some people can't figure that out and never will, so sad....
