Maybe if lkracecar had just said "I wish he'd have run, I'd like to have seen him" everybody could calm down?

Agreed.... my bad.

For some reason the Internet is conducive to arguments. I think its lack of facial expressions & tone of voice. People are more agreeable face to face than as disembodied opinions in cyberspace.

Plus, in person you can get punched....

Yo' lkracecar, if you grow up to be 1/10th as successful as cheroger you will have had a good life.  He is likely one of the smartest and most successful people that have ever posted in this forum.  His resume and work efforts are likely to dwarf anything you ever will or dream you will ever accomplish, just sayin'.....

As to Jason's decision, it was no doubt a wise one and one that I am sure he didn't enjoy making.  He is a racer and a very successful one at that, he simply calculated where he was at and what lies ahead and it became a pretty easy call.  He's a smart and calculated racer who's victory lane appearances are a combination of many factors, his brain being one of them....

Jason has made it to where he is by spending his money wisely.  A working man doesn't make it all the way from Louisianna to a mulitiple time champion in big time sprint car racing by blowing money like so many in the sport.

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Some people are acting like this is the first time someone stuck in the alphabet soup decided not to race.   It has been happening at the Knoxville Nationals for years.   The only difference is at the nationals the teams would pack up and go back home to race.     Can't blame a guy for protecting his stuff.

I can remember not too distant past  when posse or grove drivers had a bad qualifying night at nationals and just frigging vanish to get back home!

Another benefit of new Friday night program is that we get another chance to see them race.

Jason told me during Saturday night's rain delay that the car he had at STN had 32 nights on it. He felt it had lost some of it's performance (flexing to much), so he choose to go home and build a new car before the final 4 races on the Lucas Oil ASCS National tour. Remember the final race in Yuma pays 20K to win. Because Jason won the first 2 races at Yuma, he would receive a 5K bonus if he sweep the final two races there. That's almost 40K if he sweeps both weekends! Plus 60K to win his 4th Championship. In my opinion he had good enough reasons to leave.

It was a smart decision by Jason business wise. As a Herrera fan I just wish this race was for ASCS points. He would be the point leader now.

He is only an ASCS 360 guy. It doesn't matter if he was even there. Nobody came to see him. Some of you guys act like he was a longtime outlaw like Sammy or Steve. That 41 guy can't even come close to running at the Schatz, TK, Pitman level.

Sammy laughs at the ASCS guys. Told me; the series thinks they are the shit, when they are just shit. Leftovers and wanabees.

I love these guys that dream up the junk they post.  The people with a reliable source and inside information.  They know how to drive a car, set a car up, water the track and promote the races, but they set on thier ass in grandstands instead of showing us the talent they have.  What drivers  have kept up with Shatz and Pitman?  Tell me who.  Give us a break.

I would like to question the motivation of ur post. If u r a fan of Sammys why would u say such a thing on a forum where u know at least half the people hate him? If u dont like him why would u say such a thing on a forum where at least half the people hate him ? Either way you look like a name dropping, immature , s**t stirrer who has nothing intelligent to add to the conversation.  If he personally told you this and you repeated it you are a back stabbing yutz ! If you overheard it you were eavesdropping ! Im sure in some peoples eyes sammy is a low humor prick but hes not stupid !  Competition is a gd thing for his world even if its not world of outlaw caliber competition.
