As has been the case over the past several years, there will be $2.00 pizza and beer at the practice session for the 18th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals Presented by All Coast Construction next Wednesday night, October 30th. The practice will be free for fans in the grandstands. Cars will be on the track between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.

Bruce, probably not. Tried in the past one year and was to slow to warrant having them open. For those who want to get seats early they can call 1-800-595-4849 or visit http://pas.tix.com/Schedule.aspx?OrgNum=7. Fans can start putting blankets in place on general admission seats on Monday.

Scott, while I have never found it to be a real problem for the Oval Nationals, and I have been there for all but the first year, it seems that allowing folks to put blankets in place beginning on Monday, is in effect making those seats RESERVED. I am not a local, I will be driving 550 miles to take in the three nights of the Oval Nationals and have already purchased my tickets, but it seems this puts me at a disadvantage to some. Like I said to open, it has not been a problem in the past, but it does alter the GENERAL ADMISSION criteria of first come first served.
See you there starting Halloween night

Hi Rick,
Just a fan here. There will still be plenty of good seats when you arrive. The top row seems to go first. It does "alter the first come first served" idea a bit. You have to open the seating at some point before the races or you coluld have a few hundred people rushing the stands to save a seat. Wish I had a better idea for you.
As usual, it should be another great Ovals so for the most part wherever you sit, it's going to have a great view. Enjoy!

Lew,
Not to worry, I would not let that be a factor in going to the races or not. I come down to the Oval Nationals every year, because it is always an awesome few nights of racing, good racing is what drives me. My beef with the placing of blankets is I have seen many times, where those blankets are not used on the Thursday and even sometimes Friday nights and just occupied on Saturday. Those prime spots should be available to those that truly support the event and come each night.
But it has been practice for many years and that us just the way it is. But my buddy and myself will find us some great seats and have a few cool ones and just take in some of the best racing to be seen.

Well Rob,
Just so happens, Turn 4 is where I like to watch from, I will be there for sure. I am chompin waiting for it to get here.
It is sometimes hard to tell some folks what makes sprint car racing so exciting, but not only is the non wing 410 the best form of sprint car racing, but the people that one can meet at the track are the best you will ever come across. Over the years, it is so interesting that when we show up and walk up the stands to take our seats, you get the shout outs from people you have seen over the years. And I usually only get down to the PAS 2 maybe 3 times a year, and that just really makes you feel good, that folks remember you.
Let's go racing!!!
