Just browsing around youtube and came across some short clips of the Indy where Rager was racing at Indy . It was kinda cool to hear the likes of Andretti, Sneva, Foyt, Johncock, Unser, Carter and Rookie Roger Rager on the commentary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUYfPyzvLtY then one part 2 out of 5 there is a clip of him running 186 plus only about 3mph off the pole speeds. I tell ya if you browse around you can find alot of old indy and sprint car footage. Just thought some might like to see when sprints used to lead ya to indy

I asked him about that when I got to meet him. He said that was all they had. The old school bus was turned up on its side and they just cut the engine out of there. YES HE WAS RUNNING A MOTOR OUT OF A SCHOOL BUS AND HE NOT ONLY MADE THE FIELD HE EVEN LED A LAP OR TWO. Common sense will tell anybody the engine was heavily freshened to pull this off.;

Oh hell yeah it was school bus (block only) Roger told us that he picked the school bus block out of a bone yard and figured the block was gonna do all it was ever gonna do by heat,exspansion, load and cooling he felt it was a stronger choice as any. We are good friends with Roger and he really stood indy on there ear that year by showing up with an open trailer, 10 year old car, and a station wagon pulling it. I think it was an awesome accomplishment I beleive with the same car he also finished 2nd in the Ontario 500 with. I tell ya men where men back then thats for sure I watched a clip of the 1973 Indy, personally I dont know how the hell anyone would wanna get back in one of those cars back then with all the carnage that year its also in one of the Youtube clips it shows some pretty scary stuff.

I was there.....You could pick Roger out pretty easily. The sound that engine made was unreal. It's too bad that times have changed soooooo much!!!
