Sperry, Fowzer & Miller put together deal to bring Ohio youngster Sheldon Haudenschild to the 20th annual “Trophy Cup” on October 18 & 19
Tulare, CA – October 7, 2013…With the 20th annual “Trophy Cup” fast approaching at the Thunderbowl Raceway a new team has come together to field a car for young Sheldon Haudenschild, as Brian Sperry Racing, Rick Fowzer Racing and Scott Miller have put together a deal for the 20-year-old Ohio native.
Haudenschild, the son of National Sprint Car Hall of Famer Jac Haudenschild, will compete at the “Trophy Cup” aboard the No. 51 Sprint Car helped in part by C&H Veteran Enterprise, Uni Waste Inc., ART Enterprise, IPC, Benic Enterprise and Circle of Girls, which can be seen on Facebook under Circle of Girls and a soon to be launched website.
“We’re really excited about putting this deal together to bring Sheldon Haudenschild out for the Trophy Cup in 51 car,” said Rick Fowzer. “Sheldon is a great young talent and is one of the guys we’ll certainly be hearing from in the years to come. Brian Sperry, Scott Miller and I would really like to thank everyone that is supporting us in this endeavor.”
The 20th annual Southwest Contractors Trophy Cup will take place on October 17, 18 & 19 at the Tulare Thunderbowl. The event is quickly gaining the reputation of being the premier Sprint Car showcase on the west coast and the 2013 version is sure to be another epic weekend of racing & fun. Tickets are on sale & can be acquired by contacting (559) 688-0909.
With its unique format the Trophy Cup regularly produces some of the best racing seen all season. Each time a driver hits the raceway for competitive racing there are points awarded, with it all being a lead-up to the 50-lap feature on Saturday night that is completely inverted based on points accumulated up to that part of the event.
Returning to the Trophy Cup once again will be the “Taco Bravo Fiesta Night” on Friday and then the Saturday afternoon spaghetti feed, both located on the fairgrounds. The fiesta night will start 30 minutes after the races on Friday and the spaghetti feed will run from 12:30pm to 2:30pm on Saturday. As always the Trophy Cup benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation like it has since the very beginning.
System 1 Pro Ignition will be holding an open house during the Friday afternoon portion of “Trophy Cup” weekend on October 18. The open house will take place from 11am to 1:30pm and is located about one mile from the Thunderbowl Raceway at 4288 South K Street Tulare, Ca. 93274
On Thursday night after the races there will also be a post-race party featuring hot dogs, chili dogs & a live band as well, so fans and teams are encouraged to stay after the races on both Thursday & Friday. “It’s been great to see how much the Trophy Cup has grown each season,” said Thunderbowl promoter Faria. “These extra additions are definitely turning this event into a happening and one that racers and fans won’t want to miss. I know we are excited and hope everyone else is too.”
