Changes dot final 2 months of Ventura's 2013 schedule
(October 1, 2013, Noel Dawson, Ventura Raceway) OXNARD, CA - After the conclusion of the 2013 ARP Battle at the Beach for VRA/USAC Western States Midgets, the October 26th and November 9th races for VRA Midgets have been canceled. Citing season-long car counts with no expectation of an increase, the decision was made to cancel the October 26th race date and replace the November 9th date with the addition of VRA Sprint Cars. As a result of these changes, the September 28th ARP Battle at the Beach race was the final race of the 2013 VRA Midget season. Ronnie Gardner caps off an incredible season that saw him win 7 of 10 races and the King of the Beach title for the second straight year, with his first VRA Midgets title.
Other changes to the 2013 schedule include the October 26th race date which has been canceled for all divisions. Sport Compacts will be added to the November 9th raceday and Go-Karts will tentatively be schedule for the November 2nd Motorcycles and Quads night. As mentioned, the VRA Sprint Cars will replace the Midgets on November 9th.
