Talking to some people last night that are in the loop with that deal, there's some issues with the inner working of that team that involve Tim and the car owners. Apparently that whole deal is very close to folding. This came from another All-Star team member.

I had also heard over the weekend Tim and the 83 are done.

Ahem...calling Shane Stewart.  He has driven for Holbrook in the past...he's mentioned on the airwaves he is working a deal for next year...could this be Shane's next ride??  Or is Call/Holbrook shuttering the doors?  Have a feeling this is going to be an interesting off-season.

Phil Gressman has been ride shopping.  He and Janet go way back.  You just never know who might land in that ride if they keep it going.

Personally would like to see Bryan Sebetto in it. And I believe Shaffer will run the All Star Race at Eldora, but I do know the Team is parting ways after that. Also heard the Team could be shutting the doors, so we will see. The Team has not picked up the pieces after losing Brian Kemenah.

I agree. Once Kemenah left that team never seemed to be the same again.

I don't buy that...they won last years championship without him.  If he was the key...whoever he wrenches for should be dominant, but that hasn't been the case either.  I'm hearing that they are continuing to race...but Tim doesn't want to race with the current ownership.

They went from Winning a bunch to not very much this Season. If you don't think Brian Kemenah made a difference on how that Team has performed you are crazy. He was the Key to success. They worked well together. Brian works for Danny Holtgraver now, who has won quite a few Races, and ran very consistent in there first year together.

I guess I must be crazy then.  He was Wilson's crew chief last year and didn't impress.  I guess if you are looking for a key to success (your words, not mine) then maybe it was the whole entire deal.  Owners, driver, crew...not just one piece.  Egos definitely get in the way in racing, and this is no exception.

All I think of is the Nationals win. To me, that makes the partnership forever a success. Wish the best of luck to both sides.

Heres some facts.  BK and his brother couldn't get along after many All Star Championships and wins. He hepled McCarl for a short amount of time and that didn't work.  He had many championships/wins with the 83 team until some bridges were burnt.  He and Wilson couldn't make anything happen.  He and Holtgraver have won some races this year and seem to be having a good year.

the 83 team has continued to win championships and be competitve with other wrenches.

My conclusion:  It doesn't matter who the driver/mechanic/owner is....a TEAM has to be a TEAM!

Every week there is a new post about the BWW #82 and how shitty that deal is!

I could think of 10 crew chiefs and 10 drivers right now I would like to drive my car (if I owned one after hitting the lottery) that doesn't mean they're going to set the world on fire just because i hired them and that's what I wanted.  You have to put a good TEAM together that gels well.  Thats it.

do it in the dirt

I agree that it takes a complete Team effort to get things done in this Sport. Its obvious. Thats why I think after Brian left the 83 they have not been the same. They have won Races, they won another Championship, but lets be honest the All Stars arent full of Competition. A few years back there wasnt a Race anywhere that Tim didnt have a legitimate shot to win. Now it seems they have completely fallen off. Thats where BK and Tim were so good together. Tim hasnt forgotten how to drive, I just feel that Brian and Tim gelled better than whoever crews for the 83 now. They have had their time in the sun winning the Knoxville Nationals, All Star Championships, and other Outlaw Races, and before that the Car was pretty much a B-Main Car with the Driver, Team they had assembled. Im not saying Tim and the 83 Team have ran very poorly this year, but what I am saying is when you go from winning all the time, the big Races, and being competitive everywhere, it will for sure takes its toll, and frustrate everyone involved. To what we have now, changes being made. I really hope Tim finds another top notch ride, and I hope the 83 Team will come back with a top notch Driver.
