WHO WILL WIN THE LARGEST 2013 MODIFIED PAYDAY IN TEXAS?
Kilgore, TX (9/26/13) by DarinShort.com. The largest payday in the State of Texas for Modified drivers in 2013 is up for grab this weekend at LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore, Texas with the running of the $10,000 to win Armadillo Nationals, September 26-28.
A great field of drivers from six states are already pre-entered, with more entering at the speedway upon their arrival today.
The pit gates are going to open early today, at 2pm, allowing teams more time to get organized; and give the track adequate time for driver registration.
Grandstands open at 5pm, Draw Cutoff is 6:30pm (you must draw in to receive passing points!), and racing kicks off at 7pm. The schedule for Friday and Saturday is the same, except the pits will open by 4pm daily.
There are three divisions of racing all three nights, all with a driver and fan-friendly format.
The DAY Motorsports Modified division will be racing for $10,000 to win and $500 to start (24th) in their 50-lap championship feature.
The Smiley's Racing Limited Modified division will be racing for $3,000 to win and $200 to start (24th) in their 30-lap championship feature.
The Blaine's Motor Supply Factory Stocks will be racing for $2,000 to win and $200 to start (24th) in their 30-lap championship feature. Factory Stocks do not have a registration fee or preregistration. Drivers will register upon their arrival to the speedway.
Adult tickets are $12 on Thursday, $12 on Friday and just $17 on Saturday. Kids ages 6-11 are $5 nightly. Ages 5 and under are free nightly with an adult. A three-day pit pass is available at the pit gate for $90. Individual pit pass prices are $30 on Thursday, $30 on Friday and $35 on Saturday. Senior/Active Military pricing is $10 Thursday, $10 on Friday and $15 Saturday. Any race ticket can be upgraded to the reserved section (bucket seats) for $5 per ticket, per night.
All cars in all divisions must have working RaceCeivers. This event will be electronically timed and scored and every car in all three divisions must run transponders to ensure your car being scored properly. Transponders are a $25 rental for the weekend, and electronic timing and scoring services are provided by Professional Motor Sport Solutions based out of Kannapolis, NC.
FANS and RACE TEAMS: A live Armadillo timing and scoring link is now posted at the homepage of www.DarinShort.com - and will be active at 7pm on Thursday night.
Armadillo Nationals drivers will also be racing for the following special awards:
-IRP (Ingalls Racing Products) will be providing the top overall point getter a $500 cash bonus. Drivers in all three of the racing divisions are eligible, and the award will go to the driver receiving the highest overall point total from their qualifying night and championship night combined.
-Express Race Cars will award $250 cash for the Hard Charger in the Smiley’s Racing Products Limited Modifieds championship feature race.
-Gary Bassett of Mr. Plumber in Longview is providing $250 cash for the Hard Charger in the DAY Motorsports Modified championship feature race.
-Ultra Shield Race Products will provide each championship feature winner with an Ultra Shield Race Products Harness System Latch and Link set, and an Ultra Shield Track Mat. The Smiley’s Racing Products Modifieds will also have a Hard Luck award and that driver will receive $150 off Retail Purchase of an Ultra Shield Halo Seat & Cover Combo. Several drivers will receive boxes Ultra Shield Tear offs throughout the race weekend along with gift certificates towards 20% off Retail Price of an Ultra Shield Race Products Harness System.
