Kudos to Alan for his podium finish Saturday night at Fremont's ALL Star race...his first time at the track. I do, however, find it a bit odd that he would forgo a shot at $12,000 at the Jim Nace memorial. Selinsgrove is a lot closer to home than Freemont, Ohio. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see him travel a bit and do well outside posseland, but making the tow west does seem curious. I believe he also missed the Tuscarora 50 at Port which also was a high paying 'local' race. Could be his set ups work better on the smaller tracksso he's avoiding the big half miles??

What is it to you what Krimes does? Did you run Selinsgrove or The Tuscarora 50?

Saving their Williams Grove motor for the National Open. Didn't want to risk hurting that motor at Port Royal or Selinsgrove. They went to Fremont with their Lincoln motor. Finances are tight right now, the Ohio trip was a much needed vacation with a race on the side.

This was not his first time at Fremont. He went to Fremont a few years back for an All Star show.

pMScitysmitty,
Not being critical...Alan has the right to race where he wants. I just thought it curious that he towed to Ohio when there were two big paying races right here in central Pa. that he missed. Unlike you, other posters provided mature and informative responses!!

Alan runs the Grove and does very well when he gets hooked up on the bottom but other than that I think he prefers the shorter tracks. At least Alan raced and did quite well. I find it even more curious as to why some teams that run well on big fast tracks like Esh, Cisney, Taylor, Kreitz would sit at home instead of race for 12G+. I understand that racing is an expensive sport and all teams are on a budget these days but they put it on the line each week for 1/4 the amount of money.

The bone slick Ohio tracks are right up Krimes alley.

Real mature of you to come on a message board and "question" what somebody does. Ask Mr Krimes if it matters to ya.

Why wouldn't you go run Ohio instead of running against the monster teams in PA? If you know you have a shot to win in Ohio, and it is tough to beat Hodnett, Rahmer, Dewease and Montieth in a given night, it makes sense to go where you can make the most money. I think it was a good question.

Am I the only person that realizes Fremont ran Friday AND Saturday compared to just Saturday at Selinsgrove? He was there for both, and the two day purse was higher than Selinsgrove's one day. Fremont paid $5k Friday, $10k Saturday, plus $5000 spread through the top 10 in points for the two day show, which Alan was. To the untrained eye, it sorta looks like he drove the WHOLE way to Ohio to race for more money, not less? Also, according to the press release from the Krimes team themselves, this WAS their first trip to Fremont. Maybe they're forgetful? So far Kreitz(multiple), Dietrich(multiple), Krimes, Hodnett, Dewease(multiple), and Esh have All-Star victories this year. Five of those 6 drivers were born here. The tracks they won at were Williams Grove, Lincoln, Port Royal, Roaring Knob, Fulton, and Fonda. Three of those tracks are nowhere near Central PA. Dewease has won the eastern championship with the All-Stars 2 of the last 3 years (and all 3 years it existed it was won by a PA car). The moral of the story kids, is that PA racing isn't dead, and the drivers and teams aren't quite as talentless as this board reports...

It was not Alan's first time at Fremont. He ran there (Saturday only) maybe 4 or 5 years ago.

Guess they did forget, the press release is still on the grove board. The rest of that message I feel pretty comfortable with

Regardless, it was an impressive run for such a low-budget team.
