Mercer, PA – Sprint car drivers are acutely aware of when their program is off. Whether it be the fault of the driver himself or the machine is always the question, one which Jack Sodeman asked himself in mid June this year. With some self-reflection and introspection completed, Jack saw that the best place to improve his race program would be to make a change in chassis. The chassis switch led him to Triple X Race Co and the Triple X Chassis led him to incredible success, including a win this weekend and track championship at Mercer Raceway Park.

For the 6th time since making the switch, Sodeman stood in victory lane at the end of a race evening. On this night, Sodeman would enter down two points in the championship standings, but by virtue of his heat race win, entered the feature with an edge over Eric Williams. The two drivers started inside and outside pole, with Jack taking an early edge and leading the pair into traffic. Williams challenged Jack all over the track, but Sodeman had incredible drive off the high side, and despite Williams showing him a nose multiple times, it was Sodeman collecting the victory and the title.

“Championships are awesome, but at the end of the day, they are bred from consistency. When we made this switch, we were looking for something that would give us consistency – night in and night out, we roll this car out of the trailer, and are close to perfect from the first time we take to the track in hotlaps. It responds to the setup adjustments we make to it, and by the time we hit the main, it doesn’t matter if we’re on the pole or 5 rows deep, we know we have a car we will win with. When you can get that kind of consistency out of your chassis and engine combination, the wins start flowing, and titles come after that” said Jack.

Since switching to Triple X Chassis, Sodeman has captured six wins beginning on June 21st at Lernerville, followed by a wingless BOSS win at Lernerville on July 5th, Mercer on July 13th, The Lou Blaney Memorial at Sharon Speedway on August 20th, an August 30th win at Lernerville and this past win at Mercer.

Jack Sodeman would like to thank Rudzik Racing/Jeff and Bonnie Rudzik for their support this year, as well as Rudzik Excavating, Economy Tooling, PRS Transit and Gressman Powersports amongst other sponsors. Check out jacksodeman.com or follow @Sodeman23Jr on twitter for racing updates.
