didnt get any feedback the last time i posted so i thought id try it again what do people think of lining the dash up the way they do it through the time trials and heats for passing points then invert them and running the same laps again for passing points and line them up that way, what do people think of that idea

I like almost any scenario involving passing points.

Not really, The ASCS has a draw which is completly random. If they went off time trials its still KINDA the same thing though... Because ya draw for Qualifying which would be what the people who complain about everything would gripe about next. Also bring in group qualifying. Smaller tracks can have smaller groups obviously, but really no logical reasoning there cant be at least 2 cars on the clock at a time. Thats the most boring part of the show.

Plus this idea adds a RACE to the program if they invert and run again. Which the group Qualifing would help the show along to move along.

Rather see no qualifying and two heats for each driver with passing points.

If you have two heats, you wouldn't need passing points. Line heat one up by time trial, and heat 2 is same cars as heat one but inverted. Start pole and 8th, 2nd and 7th, 3rd and 6th, etc.. Every car has the same opportunity to pass the exact same amount of cars, eliminating the need for passing points. Give 1 point for first, 2 for 2nd, etc.. Lowest score starts up front in feature making sure the heats are exciting and no sandbagging to get invert. Any ties will be broken by time trials, thus making qualifying important. It is basically what go-karts do.

Yes--like it.  You COULD even mix and match heats--just make sure the starting spots are correct for each driver.

i have always liked qualifying and thought for years it was the only way to go.

i like the passing points idea but last night at the gold cup the rack was wicked fast and

time in's were fantastic,  quick time was 12.3?? with plenty of cars under 12.6??

that's part of the excitement.....
